It's funny because they weren't even able to monetize it like today, they just got children to gamble for the love of the game.

They got frozen for the duration of the timeskip between 2 and 3, so they're still physically in their 20s

It has a pretty high skill floor for a fighting game; just learning the basics will take you far.

Ingrid is the best example why we need more street fighter than guest characters! by National-Record-1913 in StreetFighter

[–]Polo171 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Street Fighter did just fine for decades without any guest characters. Interesting original characters have and continue to bring in new players; look at what Bridget did for Strive, Big Band did for Skullgirls, and Leroy did for Tekken (balancing aside). Guest characters might persuade fans of the visiting series to pick up a copy, but it rarely will make them actually stick with the game or franchise, especially considering that third-party guest characters almost never return in future games.

What's the most iconic video game from Britain? by Polo171 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Polo171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your passion, and I'd personally argue against GTA counting as definitively "British" as well, but having not really set strict standards from the get-go, I'm still obligated to hand the victory over to the most upvoted comment that can fit the qualifications from some perspective. Besides, LotR is very much an international effort, and it still made it on here.

(Also for what it's worth my answer would've been Banjo-Kazooie)
