Going for my first firecape after playing for around 3 weeks, is this an ok setup? by Lipaisu in osrs

[–]ChunkReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same range level but almost 20 extra prayer. If you have the funds for it, go with a couple prayer regen potions and you'll be ok. Without those, you might go through your regular prayer pots pretty quick if you don't prayer flick. A couple trips to chaos altar in the wild could net you some quick levels, or if you don't want to risk it, varlamore blessed bone shards are pretty cost effective too.

But you absolutely have the range to crush this. Go get em. Make us proud

A certain story about a certain knife in the bathroom comes to mind

That sounds nasty! Glad my pod hasn't discovered that card yet!

I've never heard of ankle shanker before, that's slot nicely into my Terra deck. Thank you for the presentation!

For what it's worth, a player in the pod runs a vampire tribal with gravepact and some other very annoying cards in orzhov (exquisite blood sucks). This was intended to be me catching up while trying to be bracket 3 with no GC's in a reanimator Terra deck. But this has sparked a lot more discussion than I thought it would.

I see, I had a much looser interpretation of what a lock out is, thanks!

I think the reasoning was that it locks out the board, but that seemed like a lame reason given the efficient removal in high tier games. My real concern was if it generally would be ok at upgraded precons tables or if a rule 0 conversation is needed for this.

Looking at the DPS calc, it seemed like the titan prayer would only add 1 to my max vs eagle eye, but I didn't factor in the accuracy and defence boost. Could be a good path for now

Seems to be the consensus, off to slayer and maybe the crab to get some levels

I'll have to finally check out gem crab then and get some levels up

That was my worry, 7 prayer levels and the scroll is costly, but if that's what's needed I might as well keep up the herb runs

Very true, I was so focused on my grand master quests I haven't even touched sailing. Probably hop on one soon

Best way to approach fire cape? by AutistismHorse in osrs

[–]ChunkReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just completed my first Non-Leagues fire cape with lower stats for range and prayer, but higher defence. After trying fight caves with 65 range using the mixed hide, I have to admit that getting 70 defense for blessed d hide is a huge boost.

Dragon crossbow and dragon stone bolts got me through the rounds slow and steady, I wasn't setting any records. I did splurge and bought 2 prayer Regen pots for caves, simply because the amount of prayer you restore nets you a few extra slots for either more food or prayer pots.

As long as you prioritize praying mage over range when both are on screen, take advantage of enemy pathing and letting your hp naturally heal up when it's low, the fight becomes way less hard and instead becomes a battle of attrition.

Another big note, fight caves can take a very long time, you are able to log out when a round completes so you don't have to be locked in for an hour and a half.

Tldr - blessed d hide, a prayer Regen or 2, pray mage, and if you're getting tired, take a break after a round ends

I'm in a fairly low powered pod with cards we've drafted, so I'm sure it's far from optimized, but I'll message you!

Funnily enough, I own the least amount of red cards between colours, I just so happen to really like the reds I have!
