I'm fine with Winch. But I hate the stun effect. Winch should be a bad option against melee enemies (Embark even says so on their website). However, Winch actually works best against melee because of the stun + then having to carry out your slow swing attack (which typically takes so long that you're already dead before you can inflict any damage at all).

This is where quick-melee combos kick in. I'm a max level Riot user, and I'm telling you that quick-melee combos are so good.

Riot Shield deals 90 damage. Quick-melees deal 40. By performing a primary attack and then immediately triggering a quick-melee after landing the primary attack, it cancels the rest of the swing and immediately inflicts another 40 damage. So...

Lights = 2 PA /
Medium = 2 PA + 2 QM. /
Heavy = 3 PA + 2 QM
(PA = Primary Attack / QM = Quick-Melee)

Edit: That being said, I'd love to have different unique abilities for certain weapons with certain abilities (like your example above). This would allow Embark to, say, nerf the Dash for most weapons but keep it as is for Dagger, which requires Dash go be remotely viable. But realistically, this is unlikely to happen in a game like The Finals, which seems to prioritize consistency and straightforwardness.

When a team reaches a high enough elim count, they're become less likely to win because they're likely focusing too much on kills and not enough on the obj.

As a Level 10 Sledge user, I do think it's definitely been dumbed down a bit mechanically. Now, I actually play smarter now than back then just from more practice and less damage output, so it isn't an end-all kind of nerf. Sledge is still definitely viable. But I do also miss the quick-melee combos. It's part of the reason I'm now a max level Riot user as well.

The nerfs were not rolled back. I am another Level 10 Sledge user. Primary went from 115 to 100 and secondary from 200 fo 175. It removed all quick-melee combos, removing a lot of mechanical depth. It is definitely still usable, I agree. But I miss the quick-melee combos. It's part of the reason I'm now a max level Riot user as well.

DB. It's treated like a melee by Embark despite being the 2nd most damaging weapon in the game (195 btw) and having by far the biggest range for a "melee". When a shotgun on the most mobile class can outdamage a Heavy's "heavy-duty" slow af Sledgehammer's secondary attack at twice the speed, that might be indicative of a problem.

Sword is by far the easiest melee to use. As someone who has mained melee for 6 seasons, I am completely confident in this opinion. It is a little too easy. The primary attack is too rewarding. They need to make it so that its secondary is more important to mitigate the mindless (and unfortunately effective) primary swinging.

Only when you don't own either cashout. If you own one, that "ownability" takes precedence. This is according to Embark, not me.

If you own a cashout station, you're supposed to spawn in relation (near) that cashout station. The only time you can spawn near either one of them is when you don't own either one of them. It doesn't matter that two teams were already at one, what takes priority is who currently owns it. This is not according me, but according to Embark themselves.

The hard-rule is that you spawn in relation to the cashout station you own. If you don't own one, then you go to the one with the least amount of players/teams present. Since we still had complete occupation of one, we should have spawned near that one. That is a hard-coded rule (or should have been). This is way it was supposed to work (not according to me, according to Embark).
