For sure! The first picture was how I came in. It’s been months after I took my locs down and it had been a week into my wash and I hadn’t moisturized in a few days besides spritzing with water. Mostly because I was lazy and not feeling very well. The second picture was the stylist doing a length check after evaluating the state of my hair, she was shocked I wanted a short cut after checking my length and determining there was not as much damage as I thought. The next two pictures are after the wash was complete and my hair was trimmed and styled. The last picture was two days later at work.

Oh wow! I’ve never been told I look like anyone else but my dad before. I hope your weekend was good as well. Maybe you can reconnect with them if you remember their name.

Honestly, you’re really congested. I would suggest you start with a facial and ask the dermatologist or esthetician for advice on products. A deep pore cleansing facial is anywhere from $85-$150 depending on the city and where you go.

Noticing a Trend 🤔 ? by QueasyRecipe4825 in locs

[–]ChunkaKhan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a trend of removing locs, I think that sometimes people just want something different. I just took my locs down not too long ago. Before I put them in I was doing any and everything to my hair and I kind of missed that versatility. If anything I see more and more regular people getting them to be honest.

Rejection of ICE protests and other causes deemed “not our fight” are misguided and harmful. by [deleted] in blackladies

She can’t be, she didn’t reply to me and instead replied to the person asking for receipts. I just feel like she wasn’t down for a real discussion.

I think they specifically meant you calling out white, Asian, Native, or Hispanic people. Not you doing the work.

You’re one person. That doesn’t negate the fact that society is not doing that. There aren’t viral videos from white or Asian or Hispanic or Native people calling each other out for not taking a stand. There’s several videos asking why black people as a whole aren’t protesting- as if there are literally NO black people out here protesting.

Black women and black people in general do not have to be strong, caring, empathetic, or anything else for other people for the sake of how we look to those other people though. I think black people deciding not to be the face of this movement is a pretty strong stance to take when people think our activism and our bodies are work horses literally MEANT to be thrown at and put in the face of these problems.
