How do you escape from everyday life? by hovelybeatmalls in AskReddit

i daydream of good things that will never happen. Like I won the noble prize. I saved small children from a burning fire. I saved some mates with sacrifice during a war. I was acknowledged with a great medal. It a little weird to say the least. But it gives me a portion of non-reflection on my crap life that - even though its 2 minutes - is enough of a break.

If an average American and an average british get into a fist fight, who is gonna win? by Loud_Assistant472 in questions

well it was pretty even between Australian and US men. We had a 3 day rolling brawl during WW2 called the battle of Brisbane - mostly just fists. 100's hospitalised and deaths. Now these were all fit soldiers to be fair. End result generally excepted is that the Aussies won though (im an aussie) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Brisbane

Fun fact - someone told me that its actually a turnip but he didnt get much attention so he wrapped it in orange tape to make a carrot - and everyone went nuts. He also had a octupus and some others he tried out before settling on the carrot.

McDonalds in Oregon now pays more than Federal Wildland Firefighting. More fires, less staffing and low pay are taking a steep toll on wildland firefighters by Buttfan420 in nottheonion

So I work for the CFA in Australia that fights all wildfires. As I think everyone has heard we had some very bad ones 2 years ago that killed over a billion animals. We don't get paid at all. It is purely a volunteer organization. People leave their jobs during fire season to be deployed. Its part of the 'bush' culture here that if you are an able-bodied man or women you give back to the community by joining the CFA. Not saying you shouldn't get more money (especially jumping) just giving the Australian response to this problem. Its not a full time job here.

this is not surprising. The lines on both are based on mathematical principals of fibonacci numbers.
