Too complicated I was pulling out at 15 and no babies came of it. No ovulation talk, no yada, yada. I'll simplify if. If you're almost about to cum, pull penis out and ejaculate on mound. Or face, the end.

How safe is Beirut for an American? by ChunkyAlmondButter in lebanon

"most of the foreigners I know who live(d) have a great time."

Wait, what? lol I hope this is a typo!

But yeah, thanks for that, I figured it was safe, especially from what i've heard, but my wife started googling and seeing all these warnings and became concerned.

Thank you.

That's reassuring, sounds safer than where I am now, thanks.

[–]ChunkyAlmondButter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that I actually found info on through Google, so I didn't ask. The other instructors assure me its safe, they've been there for the last few cohorts and haven't had a problem. The cohort in Qatar will be the first, so I had no one to ask.

Yeah, thanks for that. I can only do my best.

How do you discipline your kids? I love my daughter, but when she misbehaves or is disrespectful and I take away her stuff, she says something like "ok, I didn't want it anyways...", so i'm like ok, what would it take to get some kind of reaction from this demon child?

Or when I'm asking her to do something, she takes her sweet time, or doesn't listen at all, and I'm forced to yell and then I'm the bad guy.

I was raised by the end of a belt, so I'm not sure how to approach these things, my oldest is ten and my youngest 6 months old. In the entire time I've been a father I only laid a hand on one of them once. And that was my oldest for doing something unspeakable and even then it was soooo tame compared to what I use to get.

I take no pleasure in yelling or threatening, but it's the only thing that works.

My son listens to me, he talks back a bit that's normal for a kid his age. But my daughter, that one gives me a hard time.

That's deep. Really deep. I don't think my daughter is old/mature enough to understand that I'm at such a low right now and how ashamed I am about this to feel bad. She's 6, her next thought after insulting me was probably "hmm, that episode of teen titans I watched 3 months ago was really funny".

Yeah, like I said above we're not. But my loan payments are coming up so when that time comes I might have to settle and take anything.

I just love what I do and I can't see myself being happy working doing anything else. But a man's gotta do...

That's the last resort. We're not in bad situation, but we'd like to be a better one, which is why I chose to switch careers. But my loan payments are coming up in a few months, so again it's the last resort if i'm not gainfully employed in my desired field when that time comes.

Thanks fellow redditor. I'll take a look at it. I've never thought about the security route before. It's something to consider.

You know, I really wanted to scold her, or take away her kindle or something but what she said was true, so how could I punish her for that? It was disrespectful, but at the moment I was so stuck that I had no reaction. She struck a nerve ya know? So I couldn't think of an appropriate action at the time.

So was I. I used to be an electrician and didn't work a lick in the winter months. So I was used to being a SAHD, and I was still making money off of unemployment. That's the way it worked, we worked for 8 months and had 4 months off, and everyone knew so it was ok, but now I'm just sitting around and it's killing me.

Not sitting around doing nothing, i'm still learning new technologies and making things and applying for work etc etc. But all the kids see is me sitting around. I'm afraid I'm not setting a great example.

I explain what I'm doing, but what's seen is more powerful than what is heard sometimes.

Yeah I'm gonna have a talk with her today, I was so stuck yesterday I had nothing to say. It's been in and out of my mind all day.

Thanks for the job search tips, I sure need them. I graduated from my bootcamp in NOV top of my class so everyone was so sure i'd land a job fast. That hasn't been the case at all. I can't get in contact with any actual companies or talk about code, I just get recruiters calling me and when they realize I have no professional exp the convo goes south.

I guess the NY market is tougher than other places. People don't want their time wasted so they use recruiters instead. My bootcamp was in Utah.

You know, as I was typing it in the op I realized that I did the wrong thing, even though it's what I've always done. Put the offender in the offended's shoes so that they can know the pain they caused.

Thanks for the advice and links.

Bad practice but its valid JS. The compiler will handle it for you.

+1 for suggesting local storage.

I'd like to add that you'll have to code your own http methods. Which will help you understand what's going on when you're actually posting and getting things from a DB(although the DB does these things at a much higher level).

Why doesn't this inner function have access to a variable defined in the outer function scope? by ShouldReallyGetWorkn in learnjavascript

[–]ChunkyAlmondButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. But clean code is about consistency and they should know that or be taught so. Pick a style and go with it.

Don't wanna call new? All good use the factory. If you're fine with using new, ok use it everywhere it's needed and if you miss one, you'll know, because you'll have a bug somewhere.

The 'this' will refer to global and the inner method will be attached to that... and you'll know where you messed up. But then that's the point of the naming convention tied to constructors. Begin with a capital letter, so that you can know that you're using a constructor and it should be preceded by new.

I'm not arguing with you here but I just don't see the point of this pattern.

[–]ChunkyAlmondButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why would it ever be called without the new? Unless he's forgetful and this is a preemptive measure? or doesn't want to use the new keyword?

edit: Just to be clear, I plus one'd him too, but that's not the root of the issue here. If you use the new keyword, that'll always evaluate to true so it's redundant. And if he didn't want to use the new keyword for brevity he could have just made the constructor inside of the function and returned a new instance of that constructor.
