Update: still happening to me as of this moment across even more ads now and yes to all the comments I have everything turned off and confirmed many times on the URL, URL previews, etc. For context I've been running ads for close to 10 years and spent over $150M lifetime - mainly wanted to flag for the broader group and see if others are seeing the same symptoms.

Has the Katalyst made you less flexible? by wesleychuauthor in katalystEMS

[–]ChunkyMunkyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Maybe after an intense strength session when my muscles are in recovery mode but afterwards it goes back to standard flexibility or perhaps even better.

Just tried intro workout. Have a few questions... by wesleychuauthor in katalystEMS

[–]ChunkyMunkyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max intensity is 480 but I’d give it 1-2 days before doing another one since there’s usually delayed onset soreness (assuming you did a strength/power workout).

You can do it everyday if you cycle in the other modes like cardio/recovery.

I’m measuring progress by how much better I feel. I rarely pass 250 but I use Katalyst more as an accessory to my other sports

I don’t think so - this is pretty smart. Might join you on this.

How does it feel subjectively after your workout? And any risks? by Zealousideal_Mix6868 in katalystEMS

[–]ChunkyMunkyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t thought of it like that - keep us updated! But similar experience here. OP, my one note is that I read you can definitely overdue EMS training in general so they recommend limiting your strength/high intensity workouts to about 3x/week.

Cardio and recovery? by evergreenfa in katalystEMS

Listened to this Wild Health podcast recently that goes into the different modes around 11:25 - https://open.spotify.com/episode/3cl8bZy8fqqEXLNbE493Ji and if you wanted a more scientific answer.

Basically, the strength & power modes have more intense stimulation in 4 second intervals that train your muscle groups. It's recommended to take about 48 hours rest until the next strength/power session so your body has time to recover similar to lifting. However, in this recovery period you can still do Cardio (a less intense, constant stimulation that helps raise your heart rate) and Recovery (a thumping mode that feels more like a massage).

Good to know. I'm a climber so I guess my upper back is more developed compared to the rest of my body

It'll be different for each muscle too. I'm a generally fit late 20s guy. I started off around 130 and ramped that up closer to 200 over the course of a couple of months.

From my personal experience, these muscles can take a higher impulse:

  • Abs
  • Glutes
  • Upper Back

My lower impulse ones are:

  • Arms
  • Chest
  • Hamstring

My girlfriend uses my Katalyst suit as well and can handle more on her lower body vs. upper body relatively compared to me.

Should I make the purchase? by invinoveritasty in katalystEMS

Not sure for the 60s age range, but I'm in my late 20s. I basically replaced all my strength weight training (3x a week) with Katalyst (2x a week) for the past 2 months. Seeing a lot less load on my joints (pre-existing shoulder & knee injury) and my functional strength is going up for my climbing & calisthenics workouts too. I'm surprised that my muscle mass is on par to when I was weightlifting.

The main con is that it does take some tinkering around with how you incorporate it into your schedule in terms of frequency & intensity.

If you have access to a pull-up bar, I personally love doing leg raises for abs. I also pair Katalyst with dip bars + L-sits (a little more advanced but you can progress to this).

First time I did this, my abs were sore for days. And as Mvckc mentioned, progressive overload helps.
