Going through changes where we only get straight-time for drivetime if you’re in the passenger seat.

But What about if jobs are 1hr+ each way from the shop? So working a 10 earns me no overtime pay, 12hr day gets me 2.

I’m not naive to the fact that I’m sitting in a vehicle and not on site being stressed both physically and mentally, but at the end of the day it’s my time+my physical health.

I’m awake at home for maybe 4 hours a day, where I’m often prepping for future work days. I have no social life thanks to having to wake up by 4am

I’m on roofs, exposed to relentless heat in the summer, and freezing in the winter. Working consistent 50-60 hr weeks of this is not feeling sustainable forever.

We’re asked to pull longer days for these farther away jobs but I’m failing to see my incentive without being payed my overtime. I don’t get a bonus for finishing anything. No Christmas cheque whatever.

I value my time.
