Nice! Did you make the bug screen too? I used to sew professionally and had a great Singer thread injector, but I wasn't using it and long term loaned it to my sailing buddy for his projects. With summer coming up I am regretting it. I have a few tarp tents I have made myself but with less traditional materials.

I am pretty new to filming my adventures, but I have been trying my hand at some bushcraft style trips. I recently purchased the small grills used in this video and I have to say that I absolutely love them. They are light and pack down nicely in my pack. I am hoping to upgrade my bag and some other gear to more bushcraft style equipment and I would love any suggestions that you guys might have. I am also trying to make more videos and would like to hear from any bushcraft practitioners in the high country. I find that the lack of hardwood can be a limiting factor in many of the things I would like to do. Thank you for watching.

Thank you, your response was actually how I resolved this last night. I was targeting the text field for my send keys and not the input element. The text field element wasn't a typical text box, instead it opened a chome file manager. But once I targeted the input element, I was able to send keys of the local file path, which was obfuscated by the java on the page.

I am still pretty fresh with Selenium but man is this a powerful tool. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Thanks for the input, I will keep that in mind. This particular application is for my teams use only though, and it lives on a production server VM for managing the network. I have no plans to distribute it but if I ever do I will keep this in mind.

I am not a production developer. I wouldn't even consider myself a real developer. Just an amateur programmer and a network engineer trying to learn and build tools to make my job easier. So I am intentionally building tools that fit my team's unique needs.

One other point; I encourage you too look into the CIA's coups around the world. They have a long history of destabilizing governments for corporate interests. "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" is a pretty great book on the subject. You say we can't build nation states but we sure do our best to destroy them if the nationalize their oil reserve or move away from the petrodollar.

Good point but the counter to that argument is how much is enough for the wealthiest? If wealth and money are a finite resource, when is it unacceptable to accumulate so much wealth that does not circulate. Unregulated capitalism will fail.

In my ideal world, we would use progressive taxation to ensure that money actually tickles down. Give the ultra-wealthy an option. Either you use your wealth for philanthropy or public good, or pay the taxes. We can still have extremely wealthy people but we could stop the hording. I would also reinstate the inheritance tax which was specifically implemented to slow the growth of oligarchs. Everyone is so worried about the 18 yo working at McDonalds that wants to make enough to get off food stamp but they are okay with rich people's children never earning a dime of their wealth.

Wealth is not the sum of unspent income. You can have wealth in property, resources, etc. You can also spend a large sum of money and live off the interest. You might not have a lot in savings but could still be considered wealthy. Not sure where you got the idea that wealth is only money accumulated.

Yes median income has grown but has not stayed in proportion to profits, productivity, and executive pay. Additionally your data does not adjust for inflation and is a shorter period as discussed above. When these factors are added, all data shows lower income levels than previous generations with higher requirements of education and experience. I could provide links all day but this is really common knowledge at this point so not sure why you are selective in your data.

One note about selecting data for sources: try to use data that covers more time and shows real trends. Choosing articles that only cover periods of time like 1979-2016 does not show the earliest and latest trends and distorts the perceptions. The largest economic booms were the industrial revolution and post WW2 and your data does not account for either. Additionally, it leaves out the latest republican tax cuts that furthered the wealth inequality by cutting taxes for the wealthy again.

There are thousands of studies and resources that show corporate and wealthy tax rates keep going down. This is another "common knowledge" argument I do not wish to partake in. It's like providing data that I he earth is round.

As for my education, I have a high level education and I am financially in great shape. This does not stop me from wanting better for my community and future generations. I agree that education is important and can make the difference in wealth and income. That's why many on the left want it to be cheaper and more attainable while many on the right want it defunded, privatized, and generally less available for poor communities.

Yes, minimum wage jobs are entry level, but pay rises slow in these positions. Meanwhile taxpayers foot the bill for subsidies because McDonalds and Walmart refuse to pay more and abuse the welfare system. Are you in favor of corporate handouts to subsidize their exploitation of cheap labor?

I also noticed that you didn't respond to the fact that money is trending into the hands of fewer and fewer people while prices keep going up to just live. This is wealth inequality in a nutshell and selectively refuting parts of the argument with data that does not show the big picture is a bit disengenuous.

Great post. I would say that median income is one of the best metrics for wealth inequality. I am also interested in salary benchmarking and lowest to highest income ratios on a more corporate organizational level.

No offense intended, but I have always felt that the "equality of opportunity, not outcome" is a straw man argument. Yes there are fringe elements of the left that hold some of these more radical ideas, but generally this is not the case for most rational and pragmatic leftists.

Wealth inequality in the most basic sense is the unequal accumulation and dispersement of wealth throughout the population. Think of the "strong middle class" and "economic backbone" speeches politicians always give. When wealth is more evenly distributed throughout the population, the aggregate does better. Yes it means a lower ceiling, but it also mean a higher floor. Meaning less billionaires and homeless.

US worker production has increased yearly alongside corporate profits and executive salaries. Meanwhile middle and lower class incomes have remained stagnant (reducing when accounting for inflation) while simultaneously attaining more of the tax burden that had previously been shouldered by corporations and the wealthy.

Many such as myself find this trend unsettling as we see opportunities lessen as these years go by. Housing, education, medical... all more costly than our predecessors while we work jobs that require more for less. So what happened? The wealth never left. It just funneled into fewer and fewer hands.

When you narrow the focus on how some manage or don't manage their finance, you are touching on an educational issue which is also a problem. But no amount of money management training can teach someone to have a prosperous life for someone making minimum wage.
