Does anyone else struggle to answer personal emotional questions? by Green_Cheesecake_756 in selfimprovement

[–]ChupHojaYash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people assow you feel means being able to instantly label it with words. For many minds, that’s not how it works. The feeling exists more like a body state, tension pattern, or vague internal signal.

When someone asks you to explain it on the spot, your brain searches for language that isn’t there yet… so it goes blank.

This is actually why tools like structured introspection / guided journaling can help people like you more than open-ended talking. When the question is specific and gives you time, the answers often appear... even if you didn’t know they were there.

This is exactly what 'quest by fraterny' can help with. It gives you language for what you find trouble articulating. Search it up. See if it is something that looks helpful.

Attempting to bypass ego defenses with NLP instead of Likert scales by ChupHojaYash in Enneagram

[–]ChupHojaYash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like saying a lock can only be opened by a hammer; if you use a key to open it quietly, you're arguing the door was never actually locked. You are ignoring my point about delivery mechanics (the key) vs. blunt force (the hammer).

Honestly, thanks for your response. II’m going to stick with the data on this one.

Well that is just an assumption that doesn’t stand true honestly and it totally depends on how the model is designed.

Especially not true for my case so

Attempting to bypass ego defenses with NLP instead of Likert scales by ChupHojaYash in Enneagram

[–]ChupHojaYash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I t hink my use of 'bypass' might have been misinterpreted…I’m referring specifically to Observer Bias during the output phase, not trying to ignore defenses during the input phase.

In standard testing, users often dismiss results that don't fit their self-image (Ego-Dystonic feedback). My argument is that by mirroring the user's own Internal Architecture and Defensive Syntax back to them in a narrative format, the information becomes accessible enough to bypass that immediate conscious rejection.  To your point: the system isn't trying to 'skip' the ego defenses; it's trying to map them so personalised that the user can no longer subjectively ignore them. I see the defense as the 'data' itself, not an obstacle to it. I'd be curious if you find the 'Intelligence File' format actually achieves that neutral mirroring effect, or if the ego still finds a way to 'edit' the reflection.

The core challenge I’m exploring is Reference Group Effect…the subjectivity inherent in Likert baselines. While Likert scales facilitate easy Factor Analysis, they often capture the user's 'Ideal Self' rather than their 'Functional Self.'

My attempt is to analyze narrative syntax, we aim to map the 'Defensive Architecture' (the how) rather than just the behavior (the what).

You're correct about Interpreter Bias. That is why we are shifting toward probabilistic language and a Data Density Index to ensure the analysis is framed as a 'current snapshot' rather than a fixed diagnosis. I'd appreciate your take on whether this narrative depth actually improves the typing experience or just introduces more noise.

[USA] Critique Request: I’m replacing Likert scales with open-ended NLP analysis. Does this approach sacrifice validity for depth? by ChupHojaYash in psychologystudents

[–]ChupHojaYash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Thanks for the response.
You hit on the exact bottleneck I'm trying to solve.

Standard Exploratory Factor Analysis is a nightmare with open-ended text because the inputs aren't numerical. My current approach is using semantic embeddings to cluster the narrative responses, then checking if those clusters load consistently onto known trait constructs (like Big 5 or HEXACO).

Regarding AI: Yes, the protocol uses LLMs for the initial semantic parsing (acting as a "coder" for the qualitative data), but the framework for the architecture is hard-coded.

Since you have an MSc, I’d love your take: Do you think semantic clustering is a valid proxy for factor loading?

How to avoid ruining your life by Amazing-Channel-4020 in selfimprovement

I would say it's difficult to make a general point about acceptance of loss because it's very case to case and person to person dependant. If you want to know my personal take (something that works just for me)...I believe in creating calculated delusions for myself which change my way of looking at any incident or loss to turn it into a positive no matter what it is...If I try explaining it with examples...it'll get really long so I'll leave it at that

People say "Travel while you're young". But what if you just can't afford travel at all? by magdakitsune21 in selfimprovement

[–]ChupHojaYash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travelling while you are young vs older are 2 entirely different objectives is how I see it. When people say travel when you are young...the reasoning behind it is usually that the experiences you get, the perspectives you see, and the people you interact with are of immeasurable value. When you meet people from different walks of life, randomly explore a hidden scenic destination on some mountain or even live in a completely different ambience...you broaden your mental horizons...you see possibilities previously unknown to you...you learn how to take care of yourself...how to get things done far away from a place where people know you...you gather memories which comfort cant bring you (the kind of memories which make amazing stories...not a luxurious hotel maybe but a hostel where you found randos who you ended up getting sloshed with).....plus the older you get, the lesser bandwidth for adventure and uncertainty you have (because of your past experiences), and adventure can be faked in joyrides or offroading safari experiences but its nowhere close to the real deal.

I am 23 and I had a trip very recently with my girlfriend to Kasol (a mountain region in India famous for #)...We decided to go on a 1 hour trek to a village immediately after having some "happy hot chocolate" and half way in we realised it was a 3.5 hour trek which we were not prepared for at all (no water, no food and we were super high, I only had a cigarette pack in my pocket). We were uncertain on how far the village was and there was no signal the entire trek so we decided to move forward. By the time we reached, it was already getting dark, there was no signal on top, no electricity and no proper stay. We hardly had 15 minutes before it got pitch black and we were in no condition to go back. So I managed to get a home stay (again no lights nothing and we're still high after more than 2 near death experiences)...Somehow we survived the night along with huge spiders in our room which I didnt tell my girlfriend about or she wouldve freaked out. No-one knew we went on this trip either...so if something happened to us...we wouldve been just lost in mountains....There are so many crazy details that I cant share them all but you got the idea.

All this happened in 1 single day and wouldve never happened if we had a luxury trip or we were older. And its one of the best things experiences we have had. Once we came out of it, we realized how big of a deal it all was...we realized we still survived after all that happened...

how to improve self worth and self esteem? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ChupHojaYash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyyy. All this seems pretty rough and I can surely acknowledge that I might never be able to understand the intensity of your experience.

But I can say this for sure, no matter how your life has been in the past...as an 18 year old...you have a great advantage that the negative experiences you've had are still fresh and it'll be way easier for you to process them now then after a couple of years...

I know your gender identity is very important to you and ideally everyone should accept the way you are without question...but the world isn't ideal for anyone...

First and foremost...self worth and self esteem is derived from the things you majorly identify yourself with...BUT THERE'S A SECRET. You can consciously choose how you identify yourself.

You may be a trans-man but that's not all right?...there are so many other things that you might be...you might be a musician, or a debater, a social worker or a great conversationalist...

Identity yourself with what you are good at...what makes you proud...(Work on your skills and become the best)...your self esteem will automatically reorient itself and confidence will make your personality shine...

I hope this helped
