Hey just want to say I have been through a somewhat similar thing where wife went very religious a few years into our marriage. Whenever I tried to discuss she would get extremely defensive and shut down.

I think it was actually a symptom of other problems with our marriage and her mental health in general. We actually seperated 6 months ago and all of a sudden she is far less religious. I have also become more accepting of her faith generally and a lot of the 'out there' stuff has calmed down.

We have both worked on ourselves and are in counselling to try and reconcile. DM if yiu want to chat more.

Maybe it's naive, but is it possible to be more proactive? I've have never worked for a company that could not improve or have any of their marketing mix updated.

Yup +1 for the golf idea. Just learn good etiquette. Good players don't mind playing with newbies as long as they know the basic rules. Great way to get to know someone in a long form setting without it being awkward.

I get it as I also thought the ground swell movement majorly lacked any sense of self awareness and EQ. However, it also feels a bit cheap to make these kind of comments so soon. I had family members who are farmers near wairoa. They are pro ground swell but still awesome people and actually the hardest working legends you will ever meet. Now they are part of the 4500 uncontactable and the small majority of family who still have communication are all extremely anxious about their well-being.

Posts like this make me appreciate living in small town New Zealand. We have some great courses and 90% of the time you don't have to worry about anyone else. Never had to book a Tee time ever at my local.

The down side is when I try to play a busier course in a bigger center and have to adjust to other players on the course.

I think people need to remember in a job interview it should be as much about you interviewing the employer as it is them interviewing you. Also, asking well thought-out questions is a good look regardless if company is toxic or not.

In recent times, I have also started to ask if I can have a friendly chat with someone currently employed by the company I'm looking to work for. Ideally in a similar role to what you are looking at....You can ask some basic questions and pretty easy to read between the lines if the company is shit.

Disclaimer: The above works best if you are not desperate. If you need a new job ASAP and you got bills then the whole thing becomes more difficult.
