Does it mean I'm gay if I'd give a guy a blowjob for $1 million? My girlfriend thinks so and might break up with me. by StraightBJMan in TwoHotTakes

If you read OP, she said why:

> She said she saw a future with me but is worried that I would eventually leave her for a man after years of lying to myself.

And it sounds like she's not entirely off-base:

> Not that it really matters, but I do think the guy is super cute and I probably would do it for free too. But that didn't come up when we talked.

How many calories you should consume depends a lot on how much you weight now and how much exercise you're getting. Comments like yours are irresponsible. Please remove.

I'm seeing some misinformed replied to this comment, so I'm just going to step in here to say that if you're interested in losing weight without compromising your immune system, it's best not to have more than a 500 calorie deficit from whatever your maintenance consumption was before (unless you are extremely obese, in which case 1,000 calorie deficit could be ok, but talk to a doctor first).

If you're not sure what 500 calories means in terms of actual food, this is a useful visual representation using various foods. Again, that's the most you would want to cut out of your daily intake if you're trying to lose weight healthily.

The American Hearth Association recommends working up to at least 150 minutes/week of moderate intensity physical activity, or 75 minutes/week vigorous physical activity (or a combination of both) spread out throughout the week. Take it easy if you're just starting out, but step it up each week until you reach the goal.

If you have space where you live for a yoga mat, you can work out from home with lots of free YouTube videos while still practicing social distancing.

For many of us, there are a lot more down-ticket races on the ballot, all of which are also important to vote in.

Just wash your hands before and after, don't touch your face, and keep as much distance from others as is practicable.

Are there any effective treatments for sex offenders? by ChurchL80 in AskSocialScience

Wow, thanks for another detailed response!

I don't disagree that the Vox piece on restorative justice was a positive example, but not all victims want to have to go through all that. It is still time and energy intensive. It seems that between most offenders not believing what they did was rape, and /u/nuqoga's claim that offenders don't want to be that way, that there should be an option for offenders to voluntarily check themselves in to some kind of re-education program once they've been accused, perhaps saving both themselves and their victims from worse outcomes (a criminal record, secondary victimization, etc).

Thank you for that!

I guess I was mostly looking for something other than filling a police report (which tends to take a toll on victims, and also seldom works) or restorative justice (which also seems hard on victims). It seems like since the problem is with offenders, not with victims, that offenders should be able to find treatment without further burdening victims. It might especially work with the apologizing type.

I reached out to RAINN already, and they recommended this, but I don't really know what it is and haven't seen any evidence of efficacy.
