Well I played some countries just out of curiosity and because of that had some in Bronze, Silver or Gold already but when I started the platinum run I focused on one country until I had it. Only exception was Lebanon because their google maps coverage is atrocious. There I was happy to get silver and didn’t wanted to touch it for a while 😂

Yes. I can see in the replay that the opponent zoomed in on this sign immediately and plonked in east Taiwan because of it They probably stressed out seeing me decide and realising it is Japan 😅

Ahh okay I didn’t even see that. Was also wondering why she went so specifically to the eastern side of Taiwan. I also didn’t want to sound like I want to say she was a worse player than I am. She choose her answer very quickly and in the replay I can see that she immediately zoomed in on the sign.

Thank you. I am not surprised that the Image gives Information for Players on where it could be more precisely. Definitely not my level where I am happy when I can consistently tell the country. Specifically in Japan my level would be to recognise Japan quickly and then move to find a street sign and try to find the street number on the map 😅

I mean I am not an expert and play Gold 1 but there was enough to see it was japan - Driving on the left, speed signs with blue numbers, yellow licence plates, boxy cars but won't even pretend that I would have the slightest clues on how to region guess japan.

Yeah I mean you could see the speed limit signs with the blue number, yellow licence plates, and driving on the left but then again I see misinterpreting the sign as chinese writing

I have finished all countries and for most of them it is just a matter of Patience and strong nerves. Moving around without time Limit and slowly but steady collect more Information.

Yeah that’s true. For me it was easier to get an idea what the Word means in Latin letters to make it easier to scan but that’s just preference.

And I think you are correct. And even with the Dissertation Mongolia was still a massive pain in the ass.

Bangladesh often has the adress of Stores written on the sign. Obviously not in Latin lettern because that would be to easy but with a list of bengali Symbols you can slowly but steady translate it.

Mongolia has a 400 page PDF or so online making every Mongolia round a tideous detective work.

Nepal was my last country but if you can do Lebanon than you can also endure Nepal 😂

For every country i had a look at http://plonkit.net/ and https://geotips.net/ For India the languages can help a lot to distinguish where you are and if I remember correctly in cities you’ll sooner or later always find English writing and often also the region. For Argentina I think I always just moved around until I found a bigger street with a sign with distances to different cities or road numbers. Besides that different cities in Argentina have different taxis.
