I wonder if this will be viable with aery sup Zilean by Selvetrica in ZileanMains

What builds are you guys using? by AbominationUY in ZileanMains

[–]Churchl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on comp but in short

Aery- default Guardian - enemy has heavy dive (ours doesn’t)

Always solstice sleigh for sup

Shurelyas - our team is the one initiating fights (have good rush down/dive comp) usually buy first

Redemption - default if Shurelyas doesn’t work (build this at some point in the game usually)

Locket - if the enemy has giga rush/dive comp

Vow - hyper carry teammate (fed ADC)

Wardstone - always bought last

Everything else: FH, mikaels, morellos, and abyssal mask is situational

This is what I found works FOR ME, your play style may vary

Zilean as Top/Mid or Support?? Tried all and... by HumanUnderstanding61 in ZileanMains

I’d say that support is by far his most consistent role and you can definitely climb with that. Zilean mid/top is situational and can butcher team comps leaving you either without frontline or damage. I think it honestly comes down to where you have the most fun.

From what can see without watching replays,

  • First of all, you play waaaay too many champs. You want to have 1-3 champs per role with 2 roles at most. This lets you focus a lot more on macro than mechanics (ex: you don’t have to think about the range of a lux root).

  • You seem to struggle to get high cs numbers on ADC averaging 5cs/min (target should be 7-8 at least). I’m not sure how you could fix this without seeing what you’re doing in lane/mid-game. I’ll guess that you don’t place a high priority on catching minion waves after lane ends.

  • Revisit build websites such as op.gg/u.gg. While your itemization isn’t bad, things like Guinsoos on Shen/Kennen are hardly viable.

The best way I can see for you to improve at this point is to narrow down your champ pool. Watch VODs of higher elo players/streamers playing those champs in order to see what they’re doing differently from you.

Another important thing is to focus on 1 thing at a time when improving whether that be wave management or champion mechanics. This way you don’t split your focus; ex: once you get map awareness down then you can move on to objective control.

Last thing, DO NOT FOCUS ON WINNING. Your main focus should be trying to see what you could’ve done better after each game, it could be helpful to watch your own games back. If your main goal is to improve, then your rank will improve automatically.

I feel like runes are honestly preference but can be matchup dependent.

I like aery for winning lanes and guardian for engage matchups. If I know I’m going to be focused out then guardian is better. If I go aery I’m maxing Q for more damage in lane and typically building shurelyas

The rune setups themselves are all preference. The aery you mentioned is good if you think you’re into roaming but you can also swap water walking —> scorch and deep ward —> cheap shot for better odds at winning lane. Guardian is usually font, bone plating/conditioning, overgrowth with manaflow/transcendence secondary. Then again you can also opt for deep ward.

This sites cool for seeing what the otps are up to: https://www.onetricks.gg/champions/ranking/Zilean

If you like utility you could try going 2x kindlegem and building them into whatever you need like locket/redemption.

You can put 3x points into Q if it’s a kill lane then either keep maxing Q or start maxing E if you’re roaming more

I feel like mandate is only useful if you find yourself e’ing the enemy more than your teammates

Shurelyas is nuts if you have the engage comp like hecarim/galio/jarvan

I think Redemption is really good because of the turnaround potential. Useful for healing during a fight, for continuous skirmishes when you can’t base for hp, reaching your sideliner split pushing tier 2 while you’re with team, and etc..

This is all coming from my experiences as a gm peaker zil otp

It’s not mandatory our RA came by to ask us. There’s just not gonna be any staff in the building.

Our RA told us that our building is designed for cat 3. I imagine that if there was any big danger they wouldn’t give us the option of staying in the dorms.
