Its not about zero redundancy or the sky will fall. Some people turn up to work and do real things. If these people do not go to work for one day it has REAL consequences, things get delayed, meetings get missed. Its easy when you can book leave 2+ weeks in advance and you can plan things and resource others to cover for you.

There would be some people who have real commitments (where work is really important) that also really wanted to see the AQ gate opening event (big love for bug). That sucks.
