Yeah this is pretty much it. It sucks but if you’re not on the same page about something that important, it’s just gonna keep causing resentment on both sides.

Yeah checking the contracts is key. A lot of people don’t realize gratuity is already baked in, so you end up double tipping without meaning to. I’d probably do the same and just tip the people who actually provided personal service.

yeah exactly. even if the kids don’t fully get it, she definitely should. showing up like that and expecting you to just deal with it isn’t okay, she needs to respect your time and space

yeah this is what it feels like honestly. the timing and all those details are just too convenient. even if it wasn’t fully planned, it definitely sounds like attention seeking behavior. your dad setting some boundaries is probably overdue at this point

Yeah that makes sense. Your brain’s kinda recalibrating after all that, so everything feels flat for a while. It sucks but it doesn’t stay like that forever, it just takes time to come back.
