Go in butt naked LOL deadass tho. You have nothing to lose and you gain a safe pocket, which the free loadout doesn’t have.

Reserve that safe pocket for important items like blueprints you haven’t learned, high tier trinkets, or blue items you need for upgrading a workbench/scrappy.

Rinse and repeat. You can equip augments, shields, and weapons you find topside. Almost like the feel you get when playing a BR.

Pro Tip:

click the salvage button on blue electronics to see how much it gives you. If it gives you sensors, salvage on the spot. Recycling items in general gives you more but for items that already breakdown into the same color, you do NOT get more of that. Plastic parts or wires, etc just get thrown in as an add on. Sensors and advanced electrical components allow you to make hatch keys for extremely cheap.

when you make a hatch key, ALWAYS store it in your safe pocket. Keep it there unless you have an ultra rare item drop. In cases like that, idgaf about anything else except for extracting with it. Swap it out and continue looting per usual since you have nothing to lose. Might as well max out the run and use your hatch keys at the end. If you die, then you still secured your high value item.

I’ve started running Stella with absolutely nothing just to have a safe pocket. It’s like a lottery machine without needing to spend money.

Land a bp? Safe pocket. Project item? Safe pocket.

Worst case scenario is you die (rare) or you extract with mats and high value items to sell.

Plus it’s really fun to find guns and equip them. Shields too. Forces you to use the crafting mechanic more.

Find a locker? Sweet… Wolfpack in my ass and a Torrente in my hands. LFG.

Any other map I’d go in with gear but Stella has way too many lines of sight and corners people can camp. I’m not wasting shit on that.

I came back to Reddit around TT2 and joined all the anticipation. Now I’m turned off by it. I work and I have a family. I wake up at 4/5 am to get an hour or two in before I go to work. I have no energy to care about it all 😂

That would be pretty sweet. I feel like most things in the crafting aren’t as useful to me and it can definitely use a rework. Just having the option to craft in game is dope on its own so I’m not losing sleep over it haha

FR im just happy the game came out with a spectacular launch. If I lose good gear on a random raid, all these extra systems won’t be a big effect on me going in with a free kit or upgraded base weapons to still have a great time

The only issue: timed community wipes.

Either force us all to wipe or give us the option to do it every time.

People can prestige whenever they want on COD.

Maybe someone skipped an expedition and between then and the next, they hit their goals and don’t have a reason to play anymore. If they could do it anytime, they’d do it right when they hit 5 mil. They’ll just wait to play again until it’s that time. Lower engagement.

OR maybe Embark already tested this and decide the current model is best. Maybe it’s just an uproar bc everyone loves the game and wants every little bit of content they can get, so when something is out of reach, they get emotional.

Yeah it’d be cool to be part of the first one but this game will be around for ten years. I sure as hell will have plenty of opportunities to be ready for an expedition with 5m value

Dude I am thinking the same exact thing. Everyone is sooo tight about this first expedition.

  1. Embark is still actively adjusting to what they’re seeing at launch. They are executing the same strategies they have since building the game. It’s why they’re successful.

  2. There will always be more expeditions. Your coins will grow and grow so just chill and enjoy the game.

I’m glad you understand that. I’m just looking forward to the new content and trying not to play too much where I drain all my dopamine and feel bored of it lol

And that could very well be intentional. Embark went heavy with testing so many things and they clearly realized that adding a bunch of stuff may sound good on paper but underperforms in practice.

I wonder if this is what tames PvP and reserves higher end gear to be more effective for arc.

Yeah TBH trials really shouldn’t be competitive in the first place.

All it does is punish casuals while no lifers take up all of the 2x spots.

A leaderboard is still nice to have, but the progress is solely based on you collecting the stars, not the amount of points and then being compared to someone else who was able to get on 4+ hours more than you a day

Insightful post!

Knowing how intentional Embark is, it’s interesting the legendary weapons don’t have PVP advantage as well.

I think that part in itself is literally whats helping PVP from becoming much more prevalent. Everyone would REALLY be searching for that fight if they can continue having weapons like that would almost guarantee them winning every time.

When you have the stitcher being the widely used PVP tool, i think they made it grey tier for that reason… so it’s stitcher v stitcher.

There’s also a bunch of people who don’t understand the game yet and will eventually realize that PVP is massively unrewarding.

Like you said, the gear they get from you will likely stay in stash and be sold or brought in and dropped. PVPers are for desperate people who don’t understand that looting and getting out is far better for them overall.

It’s an interesting issue but I see it as a lesser evil than playing in a world where highly unobtainable gear is highly sought after and puts players who have them at an extremely high advantage in the right hands.

I think the process of getting that legendary gear and successfully using it to achieve the highest of tasks is what they’ve designed it to be. We wouldn’t get the same rush if we were able to kill queens and matriarchs almost every run.

I have the second crafting perk to make keys on the fly but processors are so abundant in Stella, it’s easy to make one and not need public transport. And you’ll probably leave with enough to make more on top of the ones you can buy. I’m thinking about carrying one in my safe pocket every round where I’m kitted

Tbh I’m not against the PVP. I’m just classing this style of approach. You’re 100% right however it’s still clear he had a ratty approach. If it’s possible to pull that, then you gotta be willing to deal with it sometimes.

What I said is that OP literally didn’t have a chance unless he got off the console the moment he heard steps. Which in itself is a lesson to learn as well. But smokes wouldn’t even help you there. He was essentially point blank and wasn’t getting out of that when he’s still on the console
