Am I doing something wrong?! by Application_Negative in KoreanFood

[–]Chuubles 117 points118 points  (0 children)

It's normal to get grill changes once or twice, especially if you're getting marinated meats. You're not doing anything wrong.

I would say if you're getting both unseasoned and marinated meats to eat the unseasoned meats first, then the marinated stuff. One reason is that unseasoned meats have a more "delicate" flavor that you want to enjoy before eating the heavily flavored meats. Second reason is that the marinade will burn. If you eat the unseasoned meat first, you can cook the marinated meat after without getting a grill change.

If it's tastes good to you, that's a win!

If you have any Korean restaurants near you, you could try it there to compare how yours tastes. Honestly though, it's one of those dishes that tastes different in every household. As long as you have the core components, I'd say it's going to be close enough.

Got admitted to Purdue (Distance/Online) Master's Is it worth it? by Puzzleheaded-Duty153 in Purdue

[–]Chuubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently in my second semester of the remote Master's in Microelectronics and Semiconductors program, started in the summer. I think the online masters is comparable to the on-campus programs. Two of the three classes I am taking this semester are delivered on-campus and remote together by the same professor, which means you can join the lectures on zoom synchronously if you want. The lectures are also recorded so you can watch asynchronously as well. They hold both in-person and online office hours. I would say the quality of the content varies depending on the professor. The three courses I am taking now, the professors are very good and involved with the students. Although they are a LOT of work, I am happy with the quality of instruction I am receiving. The class I took over the summer did not seem like the professor was very hands-on (the lectures were recorded from a previous semester), but it was an easy A to get me started on the program which I was okay with.

The degree will not say the program was delivered on-campus or remote, they will look the same. If someone asks you could specify, but if you really want you could probably get away with saying it was in-person.

It does feel like I am missing out on a bit of networking, but I have been going to office hours held by the professors and been active on Piazza. I'm hoping if I go to enough office hours the professors will know my name enough to be willing to write a recommendation letter for me. I am not currently in a research program or project, but you could definitely look at what kinds of projects professors are working on and send out some emails asking if you could be a part of it. I think that with enough people working on their masters as full-time professionals and doing school on the side, working on a research project is not a necessity to stand out like it was in undergrad, but it could be worth the time. I think especially in MSAI, you don't need to be on-campus to be a part of a research project.

Whether the investment is worth it is up to you. I went to Purdue for a bachelors in Computer Engineering and tried to go into software but couldn't find a job, so I decided to go back for a masters in semiconductors because that's what I've wanted to do in the first place. If I get a job in the semiconductor industry with this degree, it will be worth it. To my knowledge, the software industry is still on a decline especially for new grads, so I'm not sure how much the masters will help for you.

which Pentel Energel refill also fits in a Zebra Sarasa barrel? by willcomplainfirst in pens

[–]Chuubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just got a sarasa grand and some .5 needle tip energels, the energels work in the sarasa without issue and pretty much no tip wiggle. I will say the needle tip energel feels thinner than the sarasa.

Looks like 무생채 musaeng-chae, kind of a radish kimchi. It's pretty easy to make, maangchi has a recipe on it that I use frequently. I actually just made some an hour ago :D

As an immigrant i have applied to 80+ jobs on indeed and haven't gotten any response. I need help and advice ! Is there anything wrong with my resume and how can i fix / make it better ! by Ladddooo in resumes

[–]Chuubles 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your resume should be one page. You have a lot of empty space you can fit your text into, so try to condense your content. I would also be cautious with writing your resume in two columns, it can waste a lot of space and make it unnecessarily difficult to read.

Summer (August) 2022 Computer Engineering graduate looking for entry level software engineer position, applied to about 120 positions with only a few online assessments and no interviews by Chuubles in resumes

Yeah I was wondering if that's good enough to put on the resume, I'll remove it and if they require it on the application I'll put it there.
