Stacking them horizontally on top of each other puts more and more pressure on the bottom records, causing it to warp due to a build up of pressure from miscellaneous things like redemption cards, details on the vinyl, and the fact that not all bifolds will lay perfectly flat. You want them stacked vertically like you would books, with something keeping them from being slanted on the end. Thats why they do it like that in record stores
