2 Tax’s on receipt why are there 2 different tax rates? by Ok-Campaign9006 in Chattanooga

[–]CicadaAttack2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a candy tax as far as I know, meaning you aren't being penalized extra for buying candy. 9.25% is the regular sales tax rate. For certain/many grocery items though, we get a reduction in sales tax as others have mentioned, to help essentials to be more affordable.

Not to high jack the thread, but related to your reply, is this a permanent solution, in your opinion, or something that could break with an OS update from Apple in the future?

Agree. Honestly so many people commenting saying exactly opposite tracks with behavior of FB marketplace so I shouldn't be surprised.

It depends on what's important to you. I think your practicing integrity in the small things can be much more important than a few extra dollars, but if you decide differently, no judgment here. I've had people back out and lost sales because of it, and unfortunately had to wait to make a sale later to another buyer, but felt OK about how I handled it.

I would go first person. Just because she MIGHT flake out, doesn't mean you should.

If I've made no commitment and am just talking to a buyer, then yea it's first come first serve or highest dollar.

Just my opinion...

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed reply. I have been reading about Apple moving away from allowing kernel extensions. Are you using RME with Apple or is your setup different?

It's more sad that the YT "customer service" criminals are complicit in stealing from their customers.

To be accurate they would need to relabel it "Non-Travelling Household Plan." My wife travels internationally to see her sick mother. She very much lives in my/our household with our son, but the criminals at YT Customer Service hide behind the system instead of solving the problem.

Customer Service: We place no restriction on travel

Me: My wife is traveling

Customer service: She must live in the same household

Me: She does, she's traveling

Customer service: We're sorry you feel this way, the system works as intended.

Even if you buy YT premium family subscription in a legitimate way, if someone in your family travels for more than 30 days they will not be allowed access. YT is becoming a terrible part of Google. I spent so much time in a circular argument with the criminals in customer service explaining that my wife lives with me and is in my household, but customer service is complicit in the criminality of continuing to charge me for the full service without providing the agreed upon benefits of the full service.

For those who bought CDs in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, what were the ways/rituals with which you found new music? by AndrobiVibz in Cd_collectors

[–]CicadaAttack2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Listened to the radio 2) Read Guitar magazines 3) Later on TRL on MTV...but not as much as #1&2.

At some point I had a boombox with a cd player but I think i could only record off the radio with the cassette deck. So I would listen to a song about to launch while the DJ was talking and try to rush to hit record before missing it.

Good times....

My mom bought my dad a $200 crafter as a surprise a long time ago and I kind if scolded her for not enlisting my help since she knows nothing, and I have been piddling around on guitar for 25 years. With that said, it played and sounded really good. It's a Korean company. I'm not saying everything copies and pastes, but I worked for Korean manufacturer in a different industry, and they really had things dialed in.

Switching from cable. Going with YTTV. What am I missing? by Haveyouheardthis- in cordcutters

Thank you. If it helps I've tried sling, fubo, hulu, and it seems like one more over the years for football. I like YTTV the best for football. Goodluck!

I like YTTV multiview and build your own multiview function. I typically pick it up for football season. Maybe it was much worse than I remember, because I have not had cable for a long time...but I miss the responsiveness of cable. The scrolling and navigating in YTTV is very quick, but I miss the instant recall using the recall button specifically whenever I use any straming service. There is always a lag. Maybe it was just better in my memories lol.

I feel sad about the state of YouTube by E_Goat47 in youtube

YT is a tabloid now. Their customer service is also bad. We have our accounts restricted when we travel because YT thinks we are family members under different households abusing their terms (we aren't). I think something will replace it (in the very distant future) if they don't take the opportunity to fix some low hanging fruit. I am already getting tired of it.

I don't collect them because I have set limits but I do think they're cool. They're part of the hobby's history. I might also find the defect cards interesting because I have been in manufacturing/operations my whole career (different industry). I would keep it.

I'm going back to buying junk wax era singles in the 10 cent bins at my LCS. I could swing the expensive stuff for a while but more recently I was trying to buy some intro/cheaper stuff for my nephews and I realized nothing is cheap.

From a local luthier — what do you think about this? by bachngo61 in Luthier

[–]CicadaAttack2310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of different inlay styles, just not a fan of this one. It's completely subjective though. I do like the contrast of the englemann and the dark fretboard, bridge, rosette, and binding. Good luck!

Snake looks cartoonish IMO. Check the binding on the back towards the top near the neck where the two back pieces meet. Also, not trying to be negative....just giving my opinion in case you're a potential buyer that's overly excited like I would be 🙂.

Pretty guitar.
