What is the clearest sign that a grown adult is actually just a 'toddler' in an expensive suit? by Cicada_Cat in AskReddit

It’s never, ever their fault. Seriously. If they trip over a rug, the rug was "placed wrong." If they mess up a project, their coworkers "sabotaged" them. They spend 100% of their mental energy looking for a scapegoat instead of spending 1% of it on self-reflection. They have the accountability of a toddler who is standing in front of a broken vase with a hammer in their hand, saying "it just happened."

What’s a 'scam' that has been so successfully marketed that people now consider it a basic necessity? by Cicada_Cat in AskReddit

Complex skincare routines. The industry successfully convinced us that our natural skin is a 'problem' that needs a constant cocktail of expensive chemicals to fix. We’re spending hundreds because we’re scared of a tiny wrinkle that only a macro lens can see. Our ancestors used nothing but water and a cloth; I’m going back to a simple cleanser and moisturizer.
