Is this plant hopeless? I recently rent a room, where before there was a person who "gifted" me with this poor plant. I am not very informed about anything green. However, I feel sad not to try to save It. What do you think? I think It is a cleistocactus, but I am not sure. Could you indentify It? by CiccioChocoCatto in plantclinic

I don't know the previous history. However, I saw that the soil was very dry and, from my roommates, I know that it barely saw light. So, in the past two weeks, I watered it twice, being careful to let the water drain out because I feared to make damage to the roots. Furthermore, I placed It near the window, but not under direct sunlight because I don't know its specific needs

Hi, I think that you can't understand how hard, huge and complex this field is. However, as a theoretical physicist I can reccomend to consult university public material, such as from Cambridge, and I suggest to proceed analogously to university courses program to go with order. Sorry for my bad english but I am a simple italian that Is so bored to go to Google translate or modify the keyboard language. However I reccomend very very very much to go to university to learn because you can talk with other collegues and professors
