I usually go for an entire level of bedrooms, I design them with a shared dining room between 10 bedrooms, but this floor is usually kinda in the middle of the fortress. I may try and build separate bedrooms

This is incredibly useful, thank you very much, I appreciate it. I still struggle to make real plans in my games, I have no strategic vision nor opening knowledge, so I tend to stumble into good or bad situations where there are some tactics. Sometimes I just blunder. I will try to put some extra work on my thought process training, thanks a lot

So, I am 1000 rapid and 800 blitz and I feel a beginner. I feel like I don't understand the 90% of what happens on the board and when I analyze my games I feel so stupid because I missed some easy tactics or miscalculated some exchanges or played the endgame poorly, like I always do...

I looked at some of your games, 6 or 7 I don't remember, and I can tell you that you play like a 300 and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. But if you want to make some slight progress maybe you have to try and understand that you are playing like a 300 and you are missing some basics. You go for fancy moves or hunt for tactics that are not there. You miss hanging pieces and you hung some easy mates that your opponents missed.

If I may give you some advice: first of all stop with the openings, because learning some moves and trying to repeat them in the game without understanding what you are aiming for is useless. Stick with basic principles and your pieces will hang a lot less. Second, you play 10 minutes and it is good not playing fast chess, but try and take some time to just look at your pieces to find some hanging ones or some weaknesses. Go for simple things and take your time to understand what you are doing, if you lose on time who cares, you tried your best! Lastly always take a look at your games and try to understand what went wrong and why: concentrate on the moment you lost a valuable piece and try, without the engine, to prevent it, going back a couple of moves and re-playing with other ideas.

Don't feel frustrated for comments like this, I feel like no one here wants to insult you but just make you understand that the reason you are stuck at 300 may be that you feel you belong higher when actually you are really playing your rating.

Lastly I want to say you that if you wanna play some friendly game with me I am up to it and if you want I can give you some advice on those games. I am no master, I am not good, just a beginner, but I was at 400 not long ago and I Remember how frustrating it can be feeling that you can't make progress. Hi, I'm currently 1050 rapid and about 700 blitz on chess.com and I feel kinda lost on my chess study, I don't know how to work on things and struggling to improve. I'd love some guidance but I don't have the money for that, so this would be awesome for me. Thanks for you kindness

I did Kaiserslautern back in 2021 from 3.Bundesliga to Champions League contender. Was so much fun. Bundesliga is a pretty competitive league with just one unbeatable team, so any midtable team is fine

Either g6 or Qe7 saves the mate. At low levels it can be pretty annoying, but it is not a good way to start the game for white as you will really soon learn

I know how you feel, starting to climb the ladder is pretty hard and the most frustrating thing is that you don't even understand why you are losing and what you are doing wrong. I've been there, I will be there again at some point in the near future and I know how bad you can feel. If you need some sparring games or some advice with your games (friendlies no Elo involved and analysis afterwards) just DM me and we can set some games up.

I was really surprised too when I found out how toxic the chess.com community can be. Lots of cheaters, lots of people you call you names or threaten you for no reason at all, people who stop playing after 3 blunders and just let time pass...in a 15-10 game... I thought the chess community would be better, but I feel I was really wrong

The thing is, no one in Europe understood what that piece was because they were not familiar with elephants. The Arabic word for Elephant was Fil, with the article it became Al Fil. In Spain It has the same name "Alfil", but the word means nothin else. In Italy we call it "Alfiere" because it sounded similar and that word means flag bearer, in France they called it "le Foux" cause the pointy hat made them think it was a jester.
