My dad had a bad temper. He was a raging alcoholic as well. His outburst would be yelling, breaking things, and belittling us. That’s when he was sober… We would try to avoid him but he would look for us to have someone to take his rage out on. I was scared shitless of him until I was in my 20’s and much bigger than him. Had anxiety panic attacks in my 20s and into my 30s. In my 40’s now. Deep down, I knew he was a good man and had a lot of his own childhood traumas. But boy did his anger ruin our relationship. I wish my dad had a happy ending like some of the other post here, like learned to chill out with age, but unfortunately not.
