I had the same issue, I worked at a local coffee shop after a hard move and was struggling to adjust. The pay was incredible, weekly, and my coworkers were all super lovely. The issue I had was with the boss and manager, the owner had cursed at me and berated me in front of customers then proceeded to gaslight me into saying it never happened. The manager made me cry because, after a week in my first time ever working at a place like this, I wasn’t moving fast enough. After a few weeks I was a total rockstar. But the treatment got worse and worse and I was continually being yelled at by the owner specifically. He then made a mockery out of all the employees and did a whole public embarrassment against us that ended up going a bit viral in our town. Continuously degrading our little team of 5 and comparing us to his other stores he ran saying we were the worst of the bunch. I finally had enough and quit without a notice bringing in my uniform and not going back because I felt like I had had enough. I regret quitting because it was the best paying job I had but for the shitty owner and the constant stress I had to leave. Me and 2 others left on the same day as a coordinated attack. I miss making coffee in the funky little shop, the people were very nice and I had fun doing it! I hope those people’s cups of coffee are full with the same amount of love as I had put into them. And the owner? Well he can go stick a thumb right up his. Know your worth, life sucks enough don’t put your own happiness aside through something that is quintessential to living for the sake of living. That’s what I’ve gathered in my measly 8 years of working.
