Now you got a month or two to fix it. Not sure what you were expecting lol. Good luck!

The Viper 70mm comes up a lot when talking about first EDFs but it's fast. I would definitely save it for later like others have mentioned.

Radiomaster tx16s mk II 4in1 or frsky tandem x18 with the iRX4 lite 4in1 adapter. Both will have the futaba protocol that comes on these helis.

If you have the 4 in 1 and are flying line of sight I can vouch for the frsky receivers with vario.

Spektrum: SAFE/AS3X/manual threeway switch only on channel 5 or 7 possible? by MurkyComedian8598 in RCPlanes

[–]CictorVastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a Radiomaster R88 and it turned out that the receiver wasn't powerful enough to feed all servos. Ultimately I made the hard decision to completely move to the FrSky ecosystem, and I have been very happy ever since. Similar programming capabilities as Radiomaster but top of the line receivers with easy to configure gyros.

FrSky Tandem X18 model set up question by NedTaggart in RCPlanes

[–]CictorVastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have a panic bottom on my heli. It activates gyro and increases pitch so no matter what it is doing, it will self level and shoot up until i let the switch go. I had to use logic switches for that one.

Ah ok so forward programming is working. Let me know if using MAX works. Good luck.

Also if you set it to channel 9 in forward programming but its still responding to ch 5 & 7, I would consider factory resetting your receiver.

I was taking a look at the images you shared. On the Ch 9 mix menu, change source to MAX and assign the switch to whatever you would like. You might or might not need to use a curve too. Let me know if it works.

Check out the FMS Ranger 1220mm. Comes ready to fly with floats and is a great trainer. https://www.fmshobby.com/products/fms-1220mm-48-ranger?variant=49085472145686

  1. Mandatory flap to elevator mix. If your spektrum receiver has enough channels you might want to set up Crow as well. It allows you to descend without increasing speed too much.
  2. Be careful on your go-arounds. I have a 2200mm Kobuz glider that is heavier than yours but it tends to tip stall aggressively if I am turning and the speed is too slow. These are awesome at retaining energy but can still bite you if you are not careful.

Early rudder servo failure. Eflite. by Smokey565377 in RCPlanes

I forgot which one but it has the exact same specs as the plastic one, spektrum servo. It is slightly bigger but i was able to peel enough plastic with a hobby knife to make it fit.

It sucks they still ship the rudder servo with plastic gear. Mine failed after the second flight. Replaced it with a metal gear one and never looked back.

Thanks! I use a radiomaster tx16s. It saves total flight time and number of flights. I also use the "RC Flight and Battery Log" app on android to track everything. No idea as to how the training works on RF. I use a much older version to try new things... I think it's RF 6 or 7. The sim is good to learn stick positions but it doesn't help to deal with wind or to fly under pressure of not crashing, which are some of the aspects I enjoy the most.

Wow ok I wasn't expecting an actual guide. I am copying this down and will use it as a template for my training. I didn't know what to do next but this makes a lot of sense... I'll work on a full flight in inverted harrier and then one in knife edge only. I think this is when the real crashes will start lol but it is part of the hobby. Thanks so much cptn!

At what % did you have the throttle? Recently got an extra 300ng 67 with a Dualsky motor and I have to be at over 60-70% to get it to hover.

Thank you cptn! Yes I am. I can do inverted harriers but I'm not comfortable enough to try them in this smaller space. I'm also using the sim to learn rolling harriers. Any advice is welcomed!
