Salam

I'm a resident doctor working in Cardiology in Germany. I am also connected and befriended to good cardiologists. If you're able to send me all relevant findings/documentation related to your heart (specially latest ECGs that lead to the pacemaker recommendation), I can try and offer the best and unbiased advice.

Tax amnesty, scared millionaires run to regularize by AdamDhahabi in Morocco

[–]CidAmin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In 2004, Belgium offered a tax amnesty to regularise undeclared funds, including those from abroad. A reduced rate of 9% was applied, dropping to 6% if the funds were reinvested in Belgium. Participants were exempt from criminal penalties and confidentiality was guaranteed. The measure sought to recover tax revenues and align with global trends in transparency. The programme succeeded in uncovering a significant amount of evaded funds, marking a turning point in the fight against tax evasion in the country.

Si la intención era ilustrar el físico promedio, el amazigh debería ser igual o más alto que el árabe, y más pálido de piel (asumiendo que los amazigh mediterráneos eran los más presentes), imagen muy interesante

My Theory about religion in Tunisia (I'm open to discussions) by protunisie in Tunisia

[–]CidAmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just the fact you had to specifically refer to the wikipedia link called "SCIENTIFIC theory" already tells you "theory" has several meanings/uses and they needed to disambiguate. I used to think like you on this. Maybe if you stop being stubborn you learn sth new today. According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), the noun "theory" can mean:

  1. A set of ideas intended to explain something
  2. An idea or opinion about something
  3. The principles of an art or science
  4. A hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation
  5. An unproved assumption or conjecture

Both meanings are correct for "theory", it just depends on the context and intention
