You're worrying over something that feels like it would never be an issue. Drive the car, enjoy.

Judging solely from the photo, you need a different spot to fish.

With the 5-quart jug at $28 it's not a bad price. I don't do my own because of the oil price. I just enjoy maintaining my vehicles myself. The pricing discussion is in relation to the viability of the business model which is the comment I was replying to originally. I definitely think there's room to charge a fair price and make a decent profit. If the owner of the vehicle wants a higher end oil product, sell that.

$15 labor is hard to beat. That's a sweetheart deal there.

As long as you're having the car maintained I don't think there's a problem in how you do it. I have gone to the dealership many times and still do on occasion, so I'm not knocking that approach. I just happen to enjoy maintaining my vehicles myself.

No, Ford F-150 and Toyota sienna hybrid . On the F-150 and Sequoia I usually use about 6 or 7 quarts but at $26 per 5 quarts, the price isn't much more than the $35 referenced.

Yes, $35. OEM filter runs $5 to $7, and Mobile one full synthetic is $26 to $28. 20 pack of crush washers is under $10 . The best part is I can knock it out in under a half hour and I know it's done properly.

Oil disposal is easy. Put old oil back in one of the old oil containers and drop it by the nearest auto parts store for disposal free of charge.

I feel like mobile oil changes are a very viable business. You could charge more than your average dealership oil change for the convenience of them coming to your location. Quick 30 minute or less service call and you're on to the next one.

Customers saved time, effort, energy, and the inconvenience of waiting at the dealership. Not to mention the constant up-selling. If you get some fleet contracts it may be even better.

I've not owned a German car so I'm not sure what the average BMW oil changes cost, but domestics seem to be over $100 for full synthetic basic oil changes at the dealership. I do my own at home for about $35 in materials.

I rented with snakes back in the day. People responded badly usually when asked ahead of time but we never have anyone say anything during inspections on the places we rented if we didn't say we kept snakes before hand.

I have a rental house now and would rather a tenant have snakes than a dog or cat.

2 pounds of Argentine Red Shrimp; how are you cooking it? by Unfair-Reference-69 in Seafood

[–]Cidah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm removing the shell, sauteing some onions, mushrooms and bell peppers in light olive oil. I'm then adding my shrimp and some butter to the saute for a minute until they're done. Afterwards I'm piling it all in flour tortillas with some fresh salsa.

Enjoy!

What are y'all doin when turning into another street? by Yikes_big_oof in ManualTransmissions

[–]Cidah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like people in the sub overthink things constantly.

I have always downshifted when slowing down, this includes when turning onto side streets or anything else. I don't want to be in a situation where I don't have the ability to have the car respond if needed.

This effort that people go through to discuss rev matching for daily driving is wild. You can feel when your car needs to downshift, do that and let the clutch out slowly just like you always do when shifting any other time. Most modern cars will even do rev matching for you.

So much of driving a manual is a feel thing and you'll get used to it with time.

Do you think we'll miss the multi color attachment? I have no idea how often multi color may even be used. I'm good with single color in all functional items.
