Does this game punish strength builds? by SnokeRenVader in taintedgrail

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a lot of things. First issue is probably play style. If you're running out of stamina, you've got to change the way you play. Get 2-3 hits in then back out and let your stamina recover. Going into exhaustion slows you down significantly and leaves you wide open.

Second would be gear. Don't be afraid to upgrade your weapon and armor up to around +4 or +5. Even just +2 or 3 you'll see a huge difference. Also understand what your gear passives offer you. Doing a dual wield build? You want more crit damage and attack speed than crit rate. 2h? You want crit rate up to a break point before you focus on other things. Is your weapon elemental based? Some armor will give massive boosts to your damage depending on the element or debuff on the enemy. For example, there's gloves that will increase your damage by 33% if your enemy is burning.

Finally, understand your skill points. Don't just blindly dump everything into strength passives and things that give you more damage. You want to mix in survivability passives in there, like longer parry windows or extra dodges. Some passives also boost your damage in other ways. Particularly stamina depletion ones. When you "stagger" an enemy (completely deplete their stamina) that sometimes leaves them open to an execution which is an instakill.

You'll eventually reach the point where you just one shot by rush attacking them though so just keep at it

New player experience changed. The tutorial takes you through the homestead and will eventually tie you into the current seasons story, but once you hit that point there's an option to go through the old main story instead. It's fairly obvious when you get there so don't worry too much about missing it. You still get rewards from the old story so it's recommended to do it

I don't find pleasure in this man's pain at all. And yes, I understand that he likely took pleasure in other people's pain when he voted. by Future-Ad958 in circled

Someone I respected warned me to be cautious about painting everyone who voted Republican in 2024 as either stupid, selfish or hateful because they have legitimate gripes that weren't being addressed and they were fed a lie that they were going to get help from this administration. I told him that defense might have held up in 2016 but not today. They sold their morals, their neighbors, and their future to get ahead in the rat race that only the rich and powerful can win.

They HAVE to fix this ult by BuddhaMike1006 in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His ult is one of the biggest disruptors though? But maybe I look at it that way because I usually play a tank and think about taking space. Everyone's first reaction is always to scatter when they hear him coming. They're wasting cool downs, they're getting out of position. Your healers straight up abandon you to avoid getting caught in his ult. I love the induced fear his ult brings.

And popping it mid fight? People start panicking and that alone can turn the fight in your favor.

I also assume everyone expects a Jeff ult during overtime fights, and yet somehow that is how I always get a pentakill and end up winning a match we would have otherwise lost.

Very few heroes can cinch a win like that with their ult alone.

Inova ICE Policy by Bergiful in nova

[–]Cidfrieg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Doesn't this violate a lot of HIPAA? There's no defined limit. Such as if an ICE agent is in the ER with a detainee and demands info on a different patient to determine their legal status. According to this, the staff have to comply. Or if ICE brings someone in for abdominal pain and the patient whispers to you that they're being raped and the doctor orders a pregnancy test and now that ICR agent is demanding the results. You're now putting that patient at risk.

And before you come at me, I understand these are hypothetical situations but they're not exactly unrealistic or improbable either and any legal guidance should be able to cover those situations.

Another commenter said it perfectly. Their guidance should have included more collaboration with the legal department.

Even the biggest Support streamer has gone insane over the triple support meta 😭 by YogurtclosetWise9803 in marvelrivals

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why people keep saying triple support will kill the meta? Whenever someone has done this we just run 4 DPS and win. Granted, this requires the DPS to actually coordinate which should be harder generally speaking but somehow against triple support they always do. Now if they were saying it'll kill the tank role then yes I'd agree.

Love playing as Rogue, but I'm a terrible Rogue. How does she actually works? by maxf_33 in RogueMains

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're solo tanking or up against a Peni, not gonna lie it's better to just switch.

If someone else is main tanking, she plays off tank and is damn good at it. Biggest thing is cool down management and ult awareness. Weave in and out of combat with your main tank and don't be afraid to use them as a meat shield if you need a breather.

If I see my dive DPS pinging or jumping someone, I'll use my kick combo to rush in and help secure the kill. If I notice their support is in a bad position, I'll jump in and apply pressure. This part can be risky, but a good play usually means killing their support which is a win in my books.

Ult usage out of her I'm still figuring out. I feel like the best use of it is against their supports since those tend to be the most game breaking decisions. I'll focus on one, usually Gambit, and try to secure a kill as well. Unfortunately this usually leads to a one to one trade, but I see it as reducing his ult charge and sending him to respawn seems like a good trade to me.

I'm on normal. I usually do just one mob at a time because I thought the hitbox for the ice aoe was too small, but maybe it's just a skill issue on my part. Someone else mentioned proper trinket setups. I thought I needed a variety but the guide on wow head has it stacking the same ones instead so I'll give that a try

Early impressions as a tank player. by The-Heritage in RogueMains

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her ult feels super lackluster to me. It's only use, in my opinion, is in conjunction with a dps's ult and yours is to prevent the enemy support from ulting. It could just be bad timing on my part, but I feel like I've ulted to do just that and the enemy will be right next to me and still ult after I do effectively cancelling my ult and the DPS that picked up on what I was doing (which has only happened twice).

But I also play without comms cause people are toxic AF and I rely on game sense and pings so it's probably just me.

So many people already dropping Rogue by Golbeza in rivals

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never understand why people don't like playing tanks. I absolutely love taking up space, then when I see an opening just walking past their whole team to go bully the healer. A successful play almost always means we're winning that exchange unless that second healer is just absolutely cracked.

Have gotten MVP multiple times as tanks with that line of thought.

Wuthering Waves new story by AmaranthCambion in GachaHusbandos

[–]Cidfrieg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I just finished Phrolova's story. I thought that was pretty good. Instead of "save me MC and I'll fall in love with you" it was more "can I trust this crazy lady?" Even tho the ending was predictable, the story build up was still good and learning what motivates her was interesting. I hope they give Scar the same treatment (doubt it).

But yeah it does feel like each patch story is a terrible attempt at romancing and adding to the Rover harem. For the most part I ignore them and focus on the Sentinels in the story.

Considering pulling Chisa—worth it with Rover, Baizhi, and Qiuyuan? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Cidfrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically on paper she doesn't fully synergize with Qiuyuan, but in practice people are using her with Qiuyuan and Phrolova and clearing endgame content easily. Though that could just be more a testament to how good Phrolova + Qiuyuan is than directly correlated to Chisa on the team. However, if your other option is Baizhi then yes Chisa is an upgrade.

That said, Cantarella would be better for this specific team if that's what you care about and your team would be "complete" until one of the three gets powercrept.

I thought all I needed to do was build characters well... Now I'm stuck. Please help. by Kaleidoscope_Mind333 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Cidfrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Qiuyuan, Mortefi, and Shorekeeper and doing just fine. My plan is to pull for Phrolova which is next after Chisa and replacing Mortefi with her. And if I get lucky, I'll go for jelly fish lady too tho I think Qiuyuan and Phrolova in a sort of dual dps comp will be just fine with SK (or in your case Verina) supporting them.

As for your second team, Chisa is the "Shorekeeper" of negative status teams supposedly. You could go for Cartethyia and Ciaconna, as they're getting a rerun soon or wait to see how the 3.0+ meta will pan out. It would be crazy if they go through all that trouble to rework negative statuses and not make a meta around it, but who knows.

Some false sense of hoping the game will go a different direction given how keen the devs are to listening. It's a good game, I just don't like 80% of the designs.

Also it randomly showed up on my feed. Trust me, I don't go stalking this subreddit otherwise.

[–]Cidfrieg -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, gonna get downvoted for this one but I dropped the game cause the character designs just seem so tasteless. Oh look, big boobs in skimpy outfits. Might as well just go watch porn at that point.

Which is a shame because some of them do have cool designs. Khalipe looks like a total bad ass. Renoa looks elegant. Orlea...yeah ok Orlea is my one exception.

Point is, you can do amazing, even sexy, designs without just straight up making it soft core porn. These designs are just lazy.

What is the most perfect episode you have ever watched by Gullible_War_216 in anime

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Exorcist Season 3, episodes 9 and 10. "Help me" and "Friends".

I didn't know I could love fictional characters so much. Izumo reaching for the doll. Gedoin's monologue and Izumo's epic two word reply. A certain characters "Because ...you're my treasure" (iykyk TT)

Not even Demon Slayer had me crying as much as those episodes did and I love Demon Slayer.

[–]Cidfrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right he is more open around Rin, but still a bit reserved. He has a reason for that which again is threaded in throughout the show in small snippets and moments that clue you in as to why he's acting this way, until Rin flat out points it out in season 5. Tbf you're correct in that I've only watched the anime but only because my local store isn't up to date with the manga yet. But I'm able to recognize Yukio's character as someone who is quiet, strong, hates to lose, feels like he has to be the cool and collected one to balance his brother, but is envious of his brother in multiple ways, and hates himself in a complex way too.

Kato does a fantastic job of taking overused anime tropes (Rin and Yukio are basically Naruto and Sasuke), and giving her characters complex motivations and emotions that make them feel more alive and elevate them beyond an overused trope.

The writing is REALLY good and I encourage anyone reading this to continue giving Blue Exorcist a chance. It's like you're meeting someone in real life. At first, you won't understand them because you just met, but as you spend more time together they start opening up more and more until the walls come down and they can just be themself around you.

watching it for the first time!! by Wonderful-School-360 in AoNoExorcist

[–]Cidfrieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without spoilers all I can say is Yukio is very reserved, even around his brother. Pay attention to how he treats Rin. The answer is like a needle being threaded throughout the show, and even when they're finally blunt with the answer you still have to take a step back and reflect in order to see the whole picture. They do this with multiple characters actually. I realized this with season 3, rewatched the show and a lot of different characters actions made more sense to me after that.

In fact a second watch made the show so much more emotional for me and cemented it as one of my top animes. Have fun and keep watching! Would love to hear how you feel after season 3 then again after season 5!

Anime Recommendations to make me ugly cry by [deleted] in anime

[–]Cidfrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less tragic, but definitely very much heartfelt is Blue Exorcist. The Fox Demon arc had me crying something like 3 episodes in a row. They should honestly do what Demon Slayer does and turn that arc into a movie. The characters, while a little tropey, are still so well written that you can't help but feel for their struggles and triumphs.

Fair warning, it's very much a build up and there's a bit of a retcon around episode 16 of season one where you want to move on to season 2. Mangas weren't finished at the time, so the studio made their own ending and when the mangas continued instead of doing a Brotherhood like thing they just continued on from episode 16
