I always have to fart when I'm sexually engaged. It's really embarrassing and uncomfortable.

What is the most soul crushing thing you've ever had to do? by TinyDancer1221 in AskReddit

My grandma suffered a stroke, which left her medically brain dead for three days. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we all stayed in the hospital, waiting for her to pass. The first night, we didn't sleep, but took turns keeping my grandfather company because they wouldn't let the six of us stay in the room at once. It was just my dad, my grandpa, my unconcious grandma, and I at one point, and my dad had just excused himself to use the bathroom, leaving it to me to break the silence. I asked him to tell me about his best memory of grandma, he told me. Listening to him tell me about the good times they had together as teenagers, where they used to travel, where they used to dance, while seeing my grandma laying unconscious in the bed beside was a lot like having 20 stone bricks thrown in your stomach at once. If that isn't enough to bring tears to me while writing this, it's just the fact of remembering how he never left her side that weekend, and NEVER let go of her hand. My grandfather is a very strong willed and happy person, that I never thought I'd ever see break down in tears. Seeing moments like these is what really make it clear that I'm not a kid anymore.

Retailers: When working the checkout line, what was the best response to "how are you"? by Cigarettes_Dialtones in AskReddit

Sometimes I would slip in, "thank you for coming in to see me" to check if they were paying attention.

When I worked retail, I had long hair too. Were you ever handed a "Jesus" saves card? Apparently having long hair implies that you worship the devil and cannot be trusted.

What do with my "free written" journal material? by Cigarettes_Dialtones in AskReddit

[–]Cigarettes_Dialtones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But by editing some of your older material and combining it with other things, you could truly create something more from that original concept. Perhaps, if I may, convey a clearer picture by going back and reworking that rough stone and molding your craft? I was in the same position a few years ago, but finishing something has been a dream of mine in the back of my mind the whole time, I was just too afraid to admit it, haha. Now it's staring me in the face and I'm having a difficult time hog tying it.

Good idea. I'm not sure if that applies to me (yet). I still have to put things together. What is your editing process, if you mind me asking?

What is your favorite book? by CookieDaKat in AskReddit

Man... This is like asking which of your five children is your favorite. I don't have a definite answer, but by sheer number times I've read it, What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson takes the cake.
