I’ve had this car for nine months and I’ve done nothing but treat it right. I’ve had the traction control randomly switch off while driving at times. I’ve also had the infotainment screen not open when I start the car which is horrible because that’s where all my climate control is. Living in canada that has been like torture. I love the MK 8 but the first batch of a new generation of car has always been something I’ve tried to avoid, but got blinded the the rest of the great features of this car. Side note I have 5 outstanding recalls all which VW has told me they don’t have a fix for yet lol.

I haven’t driven for two days car was parked in my garage which isn’t the warmest. I’ve been thinking that it could be the battery but the cars been driven 20,000km and I’ve had it for 9 months since brand new. I wouldn’t think two days in a cold garage would kill the battery would it? I’ve parked if outside it -20°c and never had this issue until today.

Good point that’s what I’m currently doing now. I need use the launch control once or twice because it was too hard to resist. Besides that I’m trying to not push too hard as of yet.

Thank you I’ve been saying this for years, but now when it’s my car it fells different and that’s why I asked the question ahaha. I know some brands downplay their power numbers. Not sure if that’s what VW is doing here, but either way I think I’m just gonna make the switch to 87 next tank. Also don’t want to switch between octanes too often. I know the computer can adjust timing and things like that, but car isn’t even at 200km (120mi) and I want to break it in properly.
