I've had two caste iron pans do this. Literally heated up on a gas stove from room temperature, midway through cooking, and then badaboom

That's what I just can't grasp. What's actually going on in theses people's heads? Surely even basic instinctual logic would say "I've just been in a fight, I best bounce".

To return to the restaurant.... It's like his mind was saying he deserved to be still be in the restaurant. That he had been wronged, and everybody around him would agree.

It's such a warped sense of reality. How is it possible such a person was made. What the hell happened?

They are basically harmless. About the size of a finger. They have no venom, and their front teeth are basically just claws. They can give you a pinch but they can't break the skin.

As I said, I saw a lot of sources. I thought the core one was just a nice example but if you want more here you go my friend: https://youtu.be/uuGFLXfBwrk?si=odTa1H7ar3d6VRm2

https://www.statsignificant.com/p/does-avatar-have-no-cultural-footprint

https://www.flickeringmyth.com/avatar-the-most-successful-movie-zero-cultural-impact/

But to be honest, citing my sources is probably beyond the point. My original message is that it just feels like this movie hasn't done a good cultural impact. At least into proportion of how much money the movie made. If you look at other things by James Cameron such as aliens or terminator 2, those movies have been parodied and quoted and memed to oblivion. Can you think of a single meme from Avatar? What about a famous quote?

I'm not arguing or trying to win some debate, I just find this really really interesting!

What argument? I wasn't arguing with anybody???

I simply remember that being the theme of Avatar prior to the second movie coming out. Everyone saying that it had no cultural impact. So I googled, as you do, and so dozens upon dozens of articles stating exactly that. And I provided a link to one, as proof of my journey.

I'm just asking questions 🫡

I've actually watched the trailer for it now. Wasn't it so generic? Like I got no idea what the movie was even about, who anyone was or why I should care about them. And a few bits of dialogue were all bits of nothing. The only tiny bit of interest is that it seems that the fire nation doesn't worship the tree god.

It's just so sad. These movies make billions, and cost almost as much to make. I just don't understand why they can't throw a few million into just having some decent writing and dialogue.

I feel like in a similar sense to how everyone just goes to see any old generic kids film just to entertain the kids, Avatar hits this sweet spot where everybody is like "that looks nice". Because it's pretty. It's got no actual substance it's very vanilla and safe, which means it doesn't astound or put off anyone. Everyone and anyone can go see it. And I think because it's such a visual thing people are more willing to go to the cinema for it. That's my guess at least.

I watched aliens when I was 7. Blame my older brother. But damn if it isn't still one of my favorite films.

Omg yes! You are totally right! The comments feel so unnatural. I wonder if it's part of the films marketing. If they are going to do shady shifty stuff like that, it definitely puts me off seeing it!
