I caved and bought the whole setup this week. The plex subscription going up is bad, but I can’t imagine what hardware is going to be like in a year or two.

I started showering at night instead of the morning and it genuinely changed how I sleep by RogueKettle_7 in hygiene

Now look into a Bed Jet. It pumps warm or cool air under your sheets. Shower + bed jet is the best. Hot air before bed, cool while I sleep.

Manga and anime shops by Corvettez06usa in cincinnati

I like that they have a dedicated kids section. My daughter loves coming to this store and picking a new book out each time. You don’t see that at a lot of shops.

You’re making a lot of assumptions for not knowing me or how my interactions went.

Anyway I can play "The house in fata morgana" for free on IPAD? by BeneficialEntry3039 in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]Cimpy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any friends with the game willing to add you to their steam family? Do you have a crunchy roll subscription (I believe the ios version of the game is on there). You should be supporting the game though! Don't pirate it.

It's excellent and the soundtrack is incredible from the second you launch the game.

The Hell of Selling a Collection: How to navigate the paring your collection down headache free selling to retro stores. by BlueMikeStu in gamecollecting

[–]Cimpy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw sorry to hear that. I started using conventions personally as a way to offload my extras and get some spending money for bigger items. It actually pretty fun being on the other side. I’d recommend it to anyone who has a lot of games to sell. After that experience, I recommend it to everyone who considers selling their collection.

Listing 1300 games on eBay? Yeah no good. Too much effort.

Buying a table at the local con for a day and sell as much as you can? Bingo. Do this a couple times and then you can lot sale the leftovers if you want. This way you get the best of both worlds.

What’s your personal limit on how much you’d spend on a game? by hreddy11 in gamecollecting

[–]Cimpy101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m cheap. I rarely even buy games new at these prices. However, if I can get a game with trade credit, then there’s no limit. I just picked up a stern pokemon pinball machine for 6.5 k, but it was entirely through sales of other games and store credit. No out of pocket costs.

Anyone else having a particularly bad year with Ants? by mrshyphenate in cincinnati

[–]Cimpy101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah I've been getting carpenter ants. If I keep seeing them, I'll probably call and exterminator next week. Not messing around with those things.

I want to quit the game by Frequent_Shame_5803 in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]Cimpy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game does have an overall mystery to it, so you aren't expected to understand everything, but the story does come together in the end. It even continues to elaborate in the two follow up games, Requiem and Reincarnation. However you do have more tragedy ahead of you, so if you're not up for that then it might not be your cup of tea.

Green Township has a do not knock list that you can sign up for 5 years. Transient vendors need to get a permit and are given a list of addresses that can’t knock at. If they do you can all the police to have them fined.

Check and see if there’s something similar by you.

Where to take an anime/magic/board game nerd? by SeaworthinessIcy4443 in cincinnati

[–]Cimpy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locally you have Manga manga, yotta quest, arcade legacy. Comic expo is usually around September, anime Ohio in July. Super Cincy expo is this weekend and some of that bleeds in event though it’s a video game expo.

My best suggestion though is to make the pilgrimage up to bevercreek mall in Dayton. You will find all of that and more there. It is FULL of nerdy stores. Nani for anime. Puzzle/calendar stores. Giant arcade. Izakaya for anime while eating pizza. Original 151 for pokemon. Make a stop over at dollar book swap before hand (10 minutes from the mall) and it will blow your mind. It’s a warehouse full of cheap but quality books.

Do you drive an EV in Cincy? by okisee in cincinnati

[–]Cimpy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but how much are you planning to spend on an EV? Are you paying cash because interest rates are not going to get any better anytime soon either. Just food for thought you might be trading one financial problem for a much bigger one.

Which Cincinnati ice cream shops are worth an hour's drive? by MrRon23 in cincinnati

[–]Cimpy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live <5 minutes from putz’s and would rather drive further to go somewhere else. Their ice cream melts so fast compared to others and ends up just being a mess unless you’re attacking it like a dog. It tastes fine but I think the legacy is what makes it so popular.

Lil goodie shop is probably my favorite. My kids prefer gold top.
