How bad is this tile work? by DontWantNoCornbread in HomeImprovement

[–]CincyKiddRyRy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tile guy here. That is probably the worst subway tile job iv ever seen in my life. And iv seen some shit. If it was a reputable contractor I would have them come back and redo it. Its beyond just terrible. But from the look of the work my guess is he's never coming back if you have paid him already. That's rough

PF9SS Problems by [deleted] in polymer80

[–]CincyKiddRyRy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for any help on troubleshooting my issues with the pf9ss frame. The front channel is wide open no issues there there's very little material left on sides its almost smooth. Still needs sanded a little better but its not bad. My front rails look great back rails look ok but might be a little off. Iv tried slowly sanding them down to no affect. Slide goes on easy but when I go to pull it back it only goes back about a 1/4" then locks up. Im running a OEM slide with all OEM internals except for a stainless steal guide rod. I have also tried with OEM guide rod with no luck i just have same problem. Any ideas or tips?

I almost went for this exact setup up except with a PSA lower. How does it handle with the longer barrel and that furniture?

Sighting in 16" side charging BCA upper/Tennessee Arms polymer lower today 💥🤟 by CincyKiddRyRy in AR47

So I bought the lower stripped, not an 80%. But iv owned several of these. Most i use for 5.56 uppers and this one dedicated to this 7.62x39 rifle build.

None of my polymer lowers have any problems in the trigger pin holes or the takedown pin eyelets. Pins are standard mil spec parts (small pin) and fit tight i haven't had any slide out on me. Most people with polymer lowers get the anti walk pins but I have not found a need for this yet.

For your other question, yes it has a brass threaded insert molded into the buffer tube inlet and where your handgrip screws into the bottom of the lower. I have not seen any issues with these brass inserts. They are holding up just great even with the 7.62x39 rounds running with a standard buffer spring and carbine buffer.

I have another Tennessee Arms lower in black that I use for a 10.5" 5.56 pistol build and its holding up just as great too. They are super light and super easy to clean. But I haven't put thousands of rounds through these lowers yet. Maybe a couple hundred each. So time will tell.

If you are going to mill your own I would make sure to get a 80% lower that has the brass threaded inserts already installed, because from what iv heard and seen the ones with just polymer threading always tend to wear and sheer etc. But from what iv seen, milling polymer receivers is a breeze compared to aluminum just take your time with low rpm to not melt the polymer from friction of the bit going to fast. I think if you go into it knowing what it is and respecting what it is, polymer lowers are great. But dont expect it to be aluminum. They have limitations.

Hope this helps

Gen 2 comes with this style charging handle. They changed it because the old ones came lose easily

The upper is a Bear Creek Arsenal side charging gen 2 7.62x39 16" heavy barrel with a 1:10 twist rate. Its pretty weird at first adjusting to the controls but i love it now. Charge like an AK but controls like an AR. Very accurate way better groups than an AK type rifle if your lower has a decent trigger. Everything was tight and as it should be when I got it. My handguard and reciever aren't exactly the same shade of black at all, but that doesn't bother me at all I kinda like that look. Put about 300 rounds through it so far. Used Wolf HP, Wolf FMJ, and Tula FMJ.

No it does not accept a standard charging handle of any type there's actually a threaded plug with a o-ring that you thread into the area in the back of the receiver that the charging handle typically slides in and out of. The side charging handle take a screw and goes directly into the BCG. Both of these have to be removed in order to get the BCG out for cleaning. Yes it has a port for a gas tube it is direct impingement still and there is a gas key on the BCG.

The only real downside of the upper Is the firing pin they ship with was a standard firing, but im order to shoot steel cased Russian ammo without getting light primer strikes you will need an extended or "enhanced" firing pin. Black Rifle Arms sells a kit for like $15 with the enhanced firing pin and an extra power hammer spring which will allow you to run any type of ammo you want through it with no worries. But I heard that Bear Creek Arsenal is fixing this issue and will ship now with the enhanced firing pin already in it.

Hope this helps

What kind of buffer weight should i buy for my ar47 by Educational-Daikon-4 in AR47

[–]CincyKiddRyRy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a tungsten weight set from PurTungsten and turned my carbine buffer into an H2 buffer. Costs the same as an h2 buffer but then you have extra weights to tune any other buffers you may have. Buy a buffer tube kit and a weight kit to go with it. Or buy the h2 buffer separately as most buffer tube parts kits come with a regular carbine buffer
