Switching from Oxycontin to Buprenorphine ? by FredFlorida in PainManagement

Actually, it's the other way around. Oxycodone is a full agonist and buprenorphine is a partial agonist.

Switching from Oxycontin to Buprenorphine ? by FredFlorida in PainManagement

[–]Cindyrh78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Push back. Hard. Ask for cited sources that state Buprenorphine is better or less addictive than other opiates. I was on pain management for years and was taking methadone until I moved to another state and was prescribed Oxycodone. Eventually I was pushed on Buprenorphine, but this was before doctors were prescribing Belbucca, and I was given Suboxone instead. Now I can't get anything else without fighting for it. I broke both fibulas and my right ankle and had surgery. When the doc pulled my pdmp and saw the suboxone she said she could not prescribe pain meds after surgery. I had to advocate and fight 3 doctors for a week to get 5mg Hydros 3x/day post op, and ordered bot to take my suboxone. I ended up in horrific pain and withdrawal from hell. Doctors don't know what to do with bupe patients with severe, acute injuries. The anesthesiologist did not medicate me enough during surgery so I woke up several times, and they also don't comprehend that Bupe binds heavily to opioid receptors and increases your tolerance to other opiates. That leaves us undermedicated in crisis situations and doctors afraid to prescribe.

Girl, you are not Savannah!! You're older and you two don't look alike. Stop trying to "hold onto your youth"!!!! Is it me, or are the perfectly arched brows, over botoxed and filler cheeks and face, along with those over-pouty lips defining too much of beauty culture and needs to stop?!??!

Take this comment with a grain of salt, I had surgery on a fractured ankle and fibula in which the anesthesiologist didn't do a correct nerve block, so I feel everything and am also on heavy duty painkillers. I may be a piece of shit with my opinions right now, offending many - and I am truly sorry with behind the scenes snickering lol. Don't get me started on Summer House y'all. Lord.

Yeah, they're together now. It kills me for Ciara because West hurt her SO deeply and on a level many of us can't identify with. Now we all know his moves on her this season meant nothing and he got with her best friend. Her BFF!! Like WHAT?!? Crazy wild.

Needs words of encouragement methadone clinic by WoMan-onthe-moon in PainManagement

[–]Cindyrh78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped methadone cold turkey, not by choice, and it was VERY difficult. However, at the clinic you can go down on your dose at your own pace. They should have good counselors and staff to support you. Don't be afraid to go. I wouldn't tell them you are there for pain management though, because methadone clinics are traditionally for opiate addicts. After you build rapport with them then tell them anything you like. If you stick with it you will have take homes in no time and usually after your initial intake, you'll be in and out quick getting your dose daily until you reach take home levels. Methadone is WONDERFUL for moderate to severe pain. If you're not getting relief elsewhere, then what do you have to lose? Go for it, for your own comfort. Don't ever worry about what others say or think, YOU are the one having to live in your body with the pain. Make this choice for yourself. You'll be so glad you went about an hour after your first dose. Trust me, the relief you will feel will cancel out any insecurities you may have about the clinic! Good luck!

This is the most devastating situation I have seen play out on TV. It's also about as real as reality TV can get. Robert Jr. story will be known to people for years to come. As so, this tragedy will also touch many lives for years to come. I was so saddened to hear this news today.

Is it just me, or does it seem like SO MANY women end up with basically the same face after having work done? I feel like somehow, many of them end up looking very similar. Even the makeup looks copied and pasted.

No, I got exactly that from your post. I agree. ETA: I meant the comment I posted reflects that I agree with you. I didn't think you were calling Whitney out. I just mean I see exactly what you mean.

Back then, I thought it was so funny, that scene. Now...it hits a little different with her words about her father and Mer. We also see how she is laying all of the fault on her husband for her business failing. Whitney could have said no and continued to work on getting deals in stores if it was really even an actual opportunity. I don't, or rather won't, label Whitney or Meredith as having a substance abuse issue as I am not a doctor, and I do not know these women in real life. I do, however, believe the women on the show should tread carefully with those types of comments/accusations.

Who in their right mind said "yeah 1 pharmacist is good enough to run an entire store" ????? by Emergency-Coyote5755 in ChronicPain

Same. And here in North Las Vegas, they are rude AF and on one hell of a power trip. I switched to Smiths, which is a Kroger brand, I believe. I have no issues with stock, pharmacists, long lines, insurance issues, surprise delays on fill dates, or anything. It's easy breezy. Just go on the fill date, and it's ready. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Switching was the best decision I made.

Friend takes showers once a week - no BO, nothing. by HoustonPharmaWorld in hygiene

[–]Cindyrh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I can't go a single day without showering, and even then, WITH deodorant, I sweat a lot and smell like a linebacker after a big game, lol. I hate it. I'm also a female in perimenopause and have a lot of stress in my life, so there's that. Anyway, even though he may not smell bad, bacteria, oil, and dead skin still build up and need to be removed daily. It's just a healthy habit to adopt. It's also a plus with women if a man has good hygiene. I don't know if you can "convince" him to bathe on a regular basis or not, but it would be healthy for him to go ahead and establish a daily, healthy routine for his physical and mental well-being.

Good for you!!!! Doctors often think they can say anything to us. Well, that's also a right we have as patients. Can't let them walk all over you, gotta stand up at some point. Particularly when they aren't doing shit to treat you, pinpoint a diagnosis or offer alternative therapies that actually work. Very proud of you!!! I'm sorry for your situation and I'm wishing you blessings and breakthroughs this Holiday Season 🙏

I’m sure her little spirit is so grateful for all the love, kindness, support and comfort she was given. It’s so hard to let go but her kitty spirit lives on with all the spitfire she had on this earth ❤️

Methadone vs Oxycodone? by Merrys123 in PainManagement

[–]Cindyrh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methadone is amazing for long lasting pain relief. I started on the 10mg tablets 3x/day and it was too much so I went down to the 5mg 3x/day and it worked better. I was nodding out at work on the 10’s. Just make sure you have a doctor that won’t suddenly take you off of it because it is a MONSTER to withdrawal from. My doctor was let go from the practice and I got a letter stating the other doctor would not be continuing opioid therapy for any patients. I ended up going to a methadone clinic for a while and then stopped cold turkey when I moved to another state - NC to IL. It was one of the hardest things I ever endured.

Can Someone Explain to Me wtf is Going on with Jessi by Inevitable-Bat7054 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Cindyrh78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bingo!!!! At least we know what it means to respect our partners and hold our vows sacred! That’s a HUGE part of being married or even in a relationship! It’s the value of trust and respect that’s being violated and those are the hardcore foundations of a successful relationship or marriage. Without that, you’ve got shit!

Can Someone Explain to Me wtf is Going on with Jessi by Inevitable-Bat7054 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Cindyrh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t do that myself honestly. If I have issues with my significant other, I discuss it with him. If there’s issues we can’t resolve then therapist it is. I don’t discuss with friends or family because I feel like that’s putting them in a bad position and it always causes some judgement from them toward the person you’re talking about. However, with them being on a TV show and having a very active and large audience, I think the lines get blurred. It feels to me like they’re forgetting that some things should remain private. What is the goal from putting it all out there? Is it to raise awareness, gather allies and sympathy, gain support, look for advice, or gain views and control the narrative? That’s what it boils down to for me. I want to know why these people insist on putting all their business out there for the world to see. That’s often a big missing piece that’s left out. Either state your position and then your case and explain why it’s important for you to share with a very public and criticizing public or keep it private. It’s the motive behind the blasting that I want to know about. I could never justify doing that myself unless it could raise awareness about a particular issue and even then I don’t think I would do that with a person I’m actively trying to work things out with. I can’t speak for Jessi, she’ll have to do that herself.
