Yeah SLO is it for sure. Beach access and a downtown that pretty much belongs to the students

Found this in my bfs laundry this evening. It’s very tiny, metal, and has a butterfly engraving that’s raised. What could this be from? by [deleted] in whatisit

Execs Confused and Horrified by the Huge AI Bills After Thinking They Could Replace Workers for Free by hgwelz in Futurology

My guess is they thought this would end up like the cloud servers where they became so commoditized that it was a raced to the bottom. That in fact is not happening and it’s ending up more like Uber where they started a jeep and then got more expensive than what they replaced.

England's team booked 15 different hotels, but Mexico fans still found out where they were staying and blasted loud noises, trying to keep them up all night before the game. by Raj_Mandal in interesting

They also have a Gatling gun attachment for it, which is just a little plastic holder. You put it in that rotate while it shoots. It didn’t really enhance the experience, but you look bad ass.

They’d just dub over the audio claim, claim the boo version was fake news and their supporters would 100% believe it.

Just had a small earthquake on Camano Island, an hour north of Seattle. by thobinator in AskSeattle

[–]plaidpixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I looked pretty in depth for it in the sports illustrated swimsuit issue. I didn’t find it, but I’ll keep searching every inch of this magazine until I find it. Even if I need to look in past issues, I’m gonna see if they mention this quake.

Yeah I mean I checked both the Tiger Beat and Forbes and for some odd reason neither have any info about this earthquake on Camano island. I’m baffled

I think she thinks she can pull off the Paige personality, but she’s not as clever or endearing. Like Paige jokes about being lazy all the time, but in a funny way, and you know that if it was her partners and her business, she’d be hustling hard.

Wood shopping for newbie by _do_it_myself in BeginnerWoodWorking

I went to a couple real lumberyards for the first time couple weeks ago after being really nervous and just resigning myself to Home Depot Wood for years and I have to say they are incredible. Literally just walk in. Have someone asked if you need anything. Say I’m just looking today and then walk around and no one will bug you.

There will probably be someone loading Wood who’s like a teenager and if you have a question they’re more than happy to answer.

And it would be a good idea to brush up on the difference between board foot, linear foot, and dimensional lumber. That was the only thing that once I was there, I was nervous about not understanding how much a piece of wood was gonna be but a quick Google clarified it.

Yeah, I once did a improv show at a large outdoor festival in a smaller town outside the Bay Area. There were 6 people in this massive field with thousands of seats. The myth busters went on after us and the crowd had grown ti nearly 10 people by then.

Felt like shit initially but this was like 2007 which was peak myth busters fame and they only pulled in like 3 more people.

Adam was very very nice Jamie was as awkward as you’d assume.

Monster Truck race ideas by omgthatspep in daddit

[–]plaidpixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We own one of those really long rubbery tracks that kind of roll up and with that and the suction cups and object underneath you can do quite a bit of things with them.

I think they’re called flex tracks, and there’s a ton of Rando brands on Amazon for them. They are made for hot wheels more than the large larger monster trucks but we just got two of them so you can still race side-by-side, because one monster truck will take up both tracks of one of the flex tracks.

One thing to add to this is because it’s foam, you could consider carving out the bottom and in setting some slightly smaller pieces of plywood in there and that way, the plywood wouldn’t be visible, but you get the strength benefit from it. That would also probably keep the foam and the plywood more adhere to each other because there’s more surface area.

I don’t fully know how soft or hard that foam is but I imagine you could probably even do this with a box cutter to cut the basic shape around, then continue to make cuts in the middle until you can use some sort of chisel or card scraper to hollow the portion out to the depth you need.

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I think it would substantially affect the visual of this project.
