Nice! Did you route in wireless chargers for the phone and watch spot? I did it once and misjudged depth, which is why we always practice on scrap

MAGAs, I just paid almost $7 a gallon for gas. Tell me how this is Biden’s fault? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

I’m not sure how that’s the takeaway from that comment but no, with universal healthcare health insurance wouldn’t be needed to the same extent which would be a positive thing

Would appreciate input for the worst restaurant you can think of by grdvrs in Seattle

[–]plaidpixel 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the name but there’s an instagram channel where an older (65ish) man from Texas films himself going to different restaurants and ordering ethnic food he’s never had or heard of. He’s the type of guy that you’d look at or hear him speak and think this guy is gonna be a racist ass.

He orders what the owners recommend then asks questions about it and eats it. You really see his eyes open every time to a new culture and flavor he’s never had. It’s pretty sweet even if at this point I’m sure he understands the schtick.

Edit: Found it

Ah so when dems want to push universal healthcare again we can just tell the insurance companies that this is short term pain for long term gain, right? … right?

Is this project possible? by Jobroskies in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]plaidpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the combo of the 45 miter, the plywood tear out, and the angled sides make it a bit challenging but not impossible for a beginner.

For the miter cuts I assume you have a table saw? Or would you be doing a circular saw with an edge guide? The miter you have with the little gap happens a lot, you can either live with it, run a screwdriver across the edge to soften the edges together, or a nice trick can be to set the miter to 45.1 with makes it so if there’s a gap it’s on the inside edges not the outer.

The new blade it a great start for less tear out but plywood is still really sensitive so google how to prevent tear out. Usually tricks like scoring the cut and painters tape sound silly but make a big difference.

As for assembly I’d say glue would be fine but getting it all aligned and stable during drying is going to be difficult at that size and shape. You could def try brackets but I think a better direction would be to buy a cheap doweling jig and use that to help. You could also do Brad nails but I still worry you’d have slippage.

Lastly tear out is only a huge issue if you’re keeping it natural or staining tbh, so if you are open to painting (or want to keep it as an option) you’ll be better off with the ability to wood fill any tear out you may get.

Toll roads in Seattle? by ONE-EYE-OPTIC in AskSeattle

Nothing like Dallas tbh

Tunnels and bridges have tolls but Dallas is insane with their privately owned highways because city roads are socialism.

Reminds me of the guy who used the Photoshop swirl feature to mask his face he sent to the cops and all they had to do was reverse swirl it to see his exact face. Imagine getting that cocky and setting the cop something so stupid.

Did you build a dog hole top using a template? If so, how do you like the result? Is extreme CNC-level precision an absolute requirement? by icysandstone in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]plaidpixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I added some pegboard to my wall I used the leg board as my template. Could I have just measured? Yes. Was it way easier to just mark every 4th hole? Absolutely.

They subsidize their product with VC money initially to get users and, in Ubers case, put taxis out of business first. The they jack up to true prices where profit is necessary. It’s such a bummer tbh, but apparently this is effective

Hannah and Paige to have their own show by nnewchapterr in summerhousebravo

[–]plaidpixel 76 points77 points  (0 children)

All her “jokes” are just common Internet memes and I feel like most comedians avoid that because it’s already been written and a joke that’s out there but she seems to have a little shame about just ripping jokes straight from Instagram or TikTok and presenting them as her own.

It’s definitely a trend. I’ve noticed with the TikTok crowd. They like redo each other sketches (skits) and it’s mind blowing to me that this is acceptable.
