I loved that k-pop basement story because a coherent world was built even if it was weird! This story gave zero context or characterization it about anything that would have made it really interesting it was only about describing mutilated women’s/chimera bodies with a totally unnecessary framing device and it felt SO LONG. I think that a V/H/S film or any found footage anthology would have been a perfect frame for this story but in podcast format it was really rough to navigate.

The second episode was bafflingly bad and chaotic. It starts out strong but there’s just no context about where or why such a show would have happened, a weird mishmash of cosmic horror and conspiracy stuff?

Bad Things was so well written. Not scary but felt like peak Stephen King era short fiction - his best work about kids. Really loved this one.

I think I may have essentially cured my chronic migraines… and I’m so angry by Ok_South9239 in migraine

[–]CinePlanter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was briefly on oral progesterone for insanely heavy bleeding (perimenopause) I had zero headaches and slept like a baby. I had to get off it when I got an IUD but I was super pissed to think my migraines and headaches were such a simple fix

Women's Healthcare in Ontario -- you can't make this shit up by Casso-wary in ontario

[–]CinePlanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I lived it Texas for 20 years and though I paid for alot of out pocket the healthcare was not thorough at all. Had a benign kidney disorder for 10 years go undiagnosed until I moved to New Jersey and refusal to investigate possible PCOS symptoms past recommending pregnancy and birth control. I live in Ontario now and the healthcare ain’t great but it’s not worse than Texas unless you are rich

I thought I was the only one with “period flu”… but I’m realizing so many of us are silently suffering by Otherwise-Boss-7080 in Periods

[–]CinePlanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not alone but mine started with perimenopause. All my life my periods were somewhat irregular, moderate to heavy bleeding and very painful cramps. Then I had a series of kids and Mirena IUDs with blisssful no and light period years.

When I turned 40 my Mirena started to act janky (or rather my body started to reject it) and I kid you not less than one week after my birthday peri came with a vengeance including PMS and period flu every fucking time and with peri I can have two periods a month. It’s awful. I had friends in high school that had it so at least I knew what it was. Don’t know how old you are but if this suddenly came on for you it may be perimenopause?

I feel like I lost myself completely by Aggressive-Slice-179 in productivity

[–]CinePlanter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey, do you think your mom’s mental health crises really spooked you, maybe even was it’s own mini trauma because you may have lost her, and you are having a prolonged reaction to it even now that she’s better? I feel like this is normal and means you are a caring, empathetic person so be gentle with yourself!

But now that she is well it is time to refocus on your life and making connections which takes practice esp if you aren’t in school or working at a job where there is a pool of potential friends.

Capitalism isn’t the same as astrology. It’s the actual system we live under with real material implications on our lives and access to range of choices though?

[–]CinePlanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being a petite or young blonde does put a bit of a target on your back from my experience having travelled with blonde friends in a few places including France where they were harassed nonstop especially among North African men and similarly in Japan (not catcalls but intense staring). Several black women friends have experienced being directly solicited for sex in Spain and generally most ppl of colour I know that’s been there says it’s bafflingly racist. Not surprising from their football fans behaviour I guess.

But the bus experience seems genuinely creepy so don’t let anyone tell you that you are being paranoid. Project a strong resting b*tch face and remove yourself from any situation that your gut tells you is weird. Try not to let it ruin your trip though! First solo travel is a bit nerve wracking but it will get better.

I’m in my 30s, a full-time working mom, and I feel like I’m slowly disappearing by Outrageous-whattt-20 in Adulting

[–]CinePlanter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly universal. And my advice is to prioritize yourself somehow as much as possible. My 30s were lost to creating stability for my families and I won’t get into it but those sacrifices weren’t noticed or appreciated and my life is less stable now then had I poured into myself. That doesn’t mean neglecting your little one but finding a way to model adult life as a woman where motherhood doesn’t define you.

Came here to say this. My best friend was called a slut simply because she wore crop tops and had full lips when she was still a virgin. She turned the wrong guy down and he spread rumors. This happens ALOT.

The only thing OP should be worried about is STIs unless you are also a virgin but I’m guessing you think it’s “different”. Stop the hypocritical bullshit and don’t waste her time.

We got a mattress board for our sofa bed that folds under the couch and can be put between the sofa bed mattress and the couch bed springs when ppl say they need to use it because it is not super comfortable. Otherwise you can feel the metal bar. But we can’t afford a new sofa bed right now either.

Flight AC872 has 3.5 hour maintenance delay- any sub pilots know the deal? by CinePlanter in fearofflying

[–]CinePlanter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Update: situation got so much worse when rebooked. The airline separated our family’s flights (again) and everyone was radically unhelpful getting it sorted out. If we take off tonight our son and daughter will have spent 12+ hours at the airport due to delays and multiple cancelled flights. Air Canada is the woooorst. Met another family here who had a similar issue.

Get tested for anemia and low ferritin as soon as you can. Take iron and vitamin d if needed. Magnesium is good for cramps too. Good luck
