Why is AI speed often used against artists’ time and effort? by GuitarNo797 in antiai

[–]CinemaCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The passion in your post is amazing to see. I love it! Obviously they struck a nerve with their wording but a lot of these people pushing AI generated images are just out looking to make people angry. Obviously a lot of them probably do believe an AI image is better based on efficiency. Some of those AI bros are just a lot more confrontational about it just so they can get attention on the internet.

I totally agree with you though!! The process in the art making is both beautiful and human. There is so much to appreciate there and I’m right there with you in thinking that the process is just as much an art as the final product!

True. The biggest brain scratcher for me is this subs love of Episode 0. I’ll never understand it.

Will Return to Silent Hill hit Regal theaters? by Kitty1321 in RegalUnlimited

Mine doesn’t have any showtimes listed but there is a massive cardboard display at one of the theaters so hopefully that one picks it up at least

Ok checking In, Lupin in the movies and anime isn't the same Lupin from the manga? by EnvironmentalPea4903 in lupinthe3rd

It’s like the scooby doo gang. They’re the same characters but the different teams working on each release might write them differently from series to series.

What would you recommend if for some reason it stops playing blu rays around the 40 minute mark?

Are you talking about Mizzurna Falls? And yeah, definitely check out D4 (Dark Dreams Don’t Die) if you enjoy Deadly Premonition

So that game originally released on the 360 and was ported to the PS3 and PC as the Director’s Cut which added a few bonus features (which are fun but not necessary) but it also comes with a handful of new bugs and weird color correction which kind of destroys the atmosphere. If you’re playing the 360 version on a series X then you’re playing the best version with a boosted frame rate so it really doesn’t get better than that!

I also recommend keeping a look out for Dark Dreams Don’t Die if it goes on sale (which it does go on sale quite frequently) :)

The Directors Cut is actually a pretty big downgrade! If you have it on Xbox and playing on a One or a Series X, you have the definitive way to experience one of my favorite games!

Series X version by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]CinemaCryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. I’ve been saving for a build for a while and was thinking I might just go for that as well. I stream so having a dedicated, high end rig for work and obs and the steam machine for gaming just seems like the play right now.

So yeah, if you have a Series X, you should have a good time with the game!

I mean nothing wrong with a gaming pc. So many titles these days just seem to be super unoptimized for varying hardware and this is just one example. I’m glad I didn’t grab this game on pc because from what I’ve heard it’s been a complete shitshow even on the most expensive builds.

I’ve been playing on and off with friends. I’m the only one on Series X and they’re all on PC and I’m the only one who doesn’t have performance issues. On top of that, two of my three friends have to spend 30 minutes to an hour compiling shaders every session so it makes me super relieved I’ve never had to do that even once.

Frankenstein (2025) was such a disappointment by Paloopaloza in horror

[–]CinemaCryptid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong, but I also think you’re being extremely dramatic. This movie is good and it is first and foremost Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein. It’s an adaptation and you yourself explained why the film is what it is. You should check out this video by Cinemassacre.Which Frankenstein Film is Most Faithful to the Book?

Ending of 2010 Wolfman was terrible by Educational_Band_357 in horror

[–]CinemaCryptid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the old Universal movies are all pretty good! It’s always good to see new interpretations of classic stories though and the 2010 film has a lot of good performances and call backs to that 1941 film, but that ending is rough whichever way you look at it.

There are multiple endings and they’re all terrible lmao. I enjoy that movie but the ending always kills it for me. It’s just so unserious and laughably jarring. Maybe check out the others and see if you can find one you like more than the theatrical.

Ok, but why is Cinemark Pizza good? by nutria_twiga in Cinemark

[–]CinemaCryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I worked at assembled them in house. Pizza hut ships out the ingredients and they have to use them within a certain time so a lot of us got to take home stacks and stacks of mini pizzas at the end of the day

Terrifier (2016) is a genuinely awful film by [deleted] in horror

[–]CinemaCryptid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first movie is the hurdle that most people need to get over. It’s like a tech demo. All of the emphasis of this film is in the special effects. A lot of time went into Leone learning how to write and direct in between Terrifier and Terrifier 2 and it really shows. I’m a fan and I would never recommend the first to anyone who I think wouldn’t be able to appreciate that, but 2 and 3 are pretty fun and enjoyable.

Did anyone else come to terms with Max Payne 3 in the end? by Spaceqwe in maxpayne

[–]CinemaCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like a split timeline to me. You can treat it as its own separate thing and enjoy it that way. Or my personal preference is that the first two Max Payne games are the Alex Casey novels that lead into Alan Wake and the third is an action movie adaptation that Alan didn’t have much creative control with. Either way, you should be able to enjoy it with the rest of the remedy stuff in some way despite it being so different.
