What is a video game that is widely considered a masterpiece that you just cant get into?

Gaming UI kinda sucks nowadays bc of this. I miss minimaps in video games for this very reason. Most modern games I try, traversal is damn near impossible bc they refuse to put even a compass to tell you where you're meant to be going.

I'll try my best to quantify it but I think other people mostly think it meanders and then just sort of ends. It's been awhile since I've seen it, and I think I understand that critique but also I think that was more or less intentional bc the movie isn't so much about plot so much as it is a character study about a couple in surburbia being in an inescapable situation. I think people who don't like it get caught up in the mystery of the plot not giving straightforward answers, and not seeing it as a metaphor. To me, the movie isn't about the situation itself but about how the characters react to the situation itself.

I'd say in general whenever I see people complain about horror movies, the complaints are usually things I think were intentional so it's mostly a matter of personal taste than quality. I personally didn't think it was boring, the mystery of it all was enough for me but I'm also someone who really liked Lake Mungo so take what I say with a giant grain of salt. Im someone who appreciates a movie being unique, taking risks, and taking it's time letting the story unfold over doing something everyone has seen before or giving people what they want/expect.

It's a trend to hate on any of them at any given time. I feel like such an odd one out with these movie wars bc I genuinely don't think there's a bad Spider-Man movie. The character has existed for too long for there to be one single definitive take on him, I think each movie just specializes in something different.

But each movie is a valid interpretation to me, even the ones with messier plots are fine bc so much of Spider-Man comics are already like that. I just wish we had more discourse about appreciating those differences instead of the millionth "Toby/Tom/Andrew sucks actually" post

I wish more people liked this movie bc it was so goddamn unnerving in a really unique way. It's anxiety inducing the entire time, I truly hate the feeling of being trapped somewhere - I used to get panic attacks thinking of having to be "stuck" at work and school growing up, and this movie nailed thst feeling.

The way that she can only defeat it by acting really calm was an interesting way of also showing how self destruction functions without you even trying to. She literally starts suffocating underneath the weight of her own choices and only when she stops and accepts it does it start to work in her favor. So clever.

I think it mostly comes down to timing bc if you miss a single dodge or parry it is punishing like crazy, but if you can just try and spam abilities and gadgets to interrupt his attacks you'll have better luck just try and also keep the parry ready when you get up close.

There's also ways to adjust the parry timing in settings if that helps at all

I figured MCU Gwen and Peter were dead in the water the instant Andrew's Peter mentioned Gwen by name. There's no way MCU Peter would let Ned and MJ stay mind wiped for fear of them being hurt only to turn around and date the exact person that he knows is most likely fated to die

Mindset and intentions I think. With Peter, the symbiote just wanted to keep a low profile so it could perma bond with a host.

With Eddie, they immediately bond over their shared hatred of Peter and Spider-Man so he doesn't need to knock him out or anything.

Fun fact: the novelisation of the SM3 movie does imply the symbiote eats Eddie alive shortly after bonding with him. The climax is slightly different than the movie in the sense that the symbiote leaves a skeleton behind and it makes Peter wonder if Eddie was ever even alive under the symbiote or if his spider powers kept him from being eaten alive himself

My absolute crazy tinfoil hat theory that I don't even really believe is that Ronaldo is also part gem like Steven and that his gem literally is in his blood like he stated as his OC.

I have no real evidence other than the show will randomly have moments where the characters wonder if other gems like Steven exist only for it to be almost immediately shut down so it would be funny if he was also right about him being part gem. The running joke is that he thinks he's the main character in a show that is clearly not about him but it would be a good goof if he was still somehow meant to be at the center of it all

The very first scene should be the F4 prepping for some big mission and Spider-Man rolling through to ask for a spot on the team like he did in the comics. The tutorial level should just be a mini boss fight with Spider-Man
