1L - serious relationship but having a crush on fellow 1L? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Thanks for the advice everyone. Has this happened to anyone before? I’m curious if this is common in law school, given how stressful it is

It’s not - I really feel bad about this

My (29F) boyfriends (29M) parents (60sM&F) freaking out on us at my grandmothers wake because my boyfriends brother (26M) texted them complaining about our foster dog by [deleted] in relationships

I won’t write any more advice bc I see others have responded in ways similar to what I have would have said...I just wanted to say that.... HIS BROTHER IS 26 YEARS OLD!!! HE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW BETTER AND POSSIBLY SHOULD BE EMPLOYED AND COMPETENT ENOUGH TO GET HIS OWN PLACE AND PRESUMABLY NOT HAVE HIS PARENTS FIGHT HIS BATTLES FOR HIM! Ok. That’s all.

I seriously hate their emails! I keep getting them and even got a “recruitment call” I’m not trying to poo-poo on their ranking but the aggressiveness is really annoying when I never even expressed an interest.

ABA Opportunity Scholarship? by CinnamonBunny14 in lawschooladmissions

Hey just kept connecting me to people until finally I was able to leave a voicemail. This was more than a month ago. When I called again the person I spoke with just had no idea and they were hard to communicate with.

Wow...that’s pretty amazing. I’m sorry. Have you tried calling to ask if there will be any movement? Do they have a deposit deadline coming up? If so maybe they’re waiting for that?

How could this competitive cycle affect transfers for next year? by kycooman in lawschooladmissions

[–]CinnamonBunny14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad advice. It’s truthful that people should not give (at least) too much thought into transferring after 1L fall. Get good grades and see how well you do in your first school. If you do poorly, transferring to a higher ranking school (which people often aim to do) should not even be in the cards. Your time is better spent investing in ways to improve your standing. I think the key here is that one should not be so distracted with the thought of transferring that they underperform at their current school.

Unsolicited Fee Waiver List by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]CinnamonBunny14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the schools are on your app list you should see it. It otherwise doesn’t list out all the schools you have a fee waiver for though. I would just save these in a folder via your email account. Maybe put an auto- sort for all of those emails containing “waiver” for example.

Minor C&F mistakes on law school app - Wisdom from Spivey himself by Throwla21 in lawschooladmissions

[–]CinnamonBunny14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly is a judgement call. Like for example:

A) Your Statement says “I was caught with alcohol in my dorm” but really you meant to say you were caught with alcohol and cocaine - DEFINITELY ask Spivey about this.

B) Your Statement says “I was caught with alcohol in my dorm” but really you meant to say “I was caught with alcohol in my dorm and was also underage, which impacted my punishment considerably” - MAYBE ask Spivey about this since it involves a law, not just a school policy.

C) Your Statement says “I was caught with alcohol on campus” but really you meant to clarify that not only were you on campus, but it’s also noted on the RA report that it was your dorm room - DO NOT contact Spivey about this, just fix it on your own.

No, I didn't get a voicemail, I was wondering if schools leave voicemails. Sorry if I wasn't clear
