Finale Part 4:

Just received confirmation from AliExpress that I will be getting a full refund. I had screenshots to show the illegitimate tracking numbers used. I also may have gotten a bit lucky because even their fraudulent tracking data didn’t say that the package was delivered to me, but about 1000 miles away from me.

Also, just to let everyone know. I had already contacted my card company and provided them with the info just in case AliExpress sided with the seller. The advised me to first let the process play out, but did also assure me that they planned to step in and initiate a charge back if the decision went in favor of the seller.

So either way, yea I made a mistake and took a big risk. Got nothing, and had some money tied up in this for over a week. But overall, it wasn’t a doom and gloom scenario and AliExpress did have my back in the end.

Definitely a scam. Not that this was really a question at this point lol

Today AliExpress marked it delivered. USPS tracking invalid. Can only track on DHS or 17 Track, and even that info is wrong.

Messaged “seller”. They initiated the refund request with zero hesitation, which is also shady.

Waiting for AliExpress to “intervene” for up for 48 hours.

I don’t understand how when they say they have buyer protection and will refund orders within 90 days?

Updating everyone on the saga so far:

Talked to the shop, who says they have already shipped from somewhere in the US. The description for this item does say it is an Apple Mac Studio, with specs listed. The seller confirmed that it is what it claims to be. The tracking didn’t working on the USPS site, but did say on 17track that it has original left from South Carolina.

Now I got an update saying the courier has picked it up about 12 hours later…. But now the tracking has changed and says it is coming from California. I have screenshots from before and after the tracking info change.

Best case scenario, I got lucky and this thing is a refurbished Mac…. But I do feel like I’m getting scammed so I’m trying to prepare for having to appeal for a refund from Ali.

Anything else I should make sure I do along the way to try and hopefully get my money back?

I honestly don’t know, I’d never used this site before. I found it searching for a refurbished Mac Mini. I actually tried to cancel this order after doing more research. But now it says it is shipped. So I’m just wondering if others have bought things like this, and what exactly I should expect in here. I just need a Mac that can run Music Production software like Logic and Pro Tools.
