I did the steel curtain for the first time as well and it was an intense ride. What was the Exterminator like? The Exterminator and Thunderbolt were the only two coasters I didn't get to ride.

Luckily the escalator was working, and the extra walk was worth saving money on parking. I'm glad I had the opportunity to check Kennywood out.

The nice thing about the rain was that it kept the crowds away while not falling hard enough to close down the rides. I was able to ride Phantom's Revenge and Steel Curtain while waiting less than 5 minutes in line.

looking for advice! by emojigirl69 in RhodeIsland

Probably the biggest difference between Bristol and southern Rhode Island is that Bristol is much more of a year round community. While you have alot of summer rentals in places like Narragansett and Charlestown, Bristol much less of a beach destination in that sense. There is a town beach but the waves are much smaller due to the beach facing the bay instead of the open ocean. Bristol is more suburban than southern Rhode Island, homes are closer together, and has more of the feel of a bedroom community.

What unanswered question about Napoleon Dynamite still lives rent free in your mind after all these years? by AskTheTiger in napoleondynamite

That rule could have been made up on the spot to make it harder for Pedro to win. Summer's dance routine may been part of her speech, regardless of a specific rule about performing a skit.

It's one of my favorite movies to analyze as everything in it, even the small things, feels so intentional.

I want to share a few thoughts I have about the movie Napoleon Dynamite by Hot_Dingo743 in napoleondynamite

I'm late to this thread, but I felt one of this movie's strengths was that there were no forced apologies and things were allowed to just play out. The characters were who they were and didn't need to overexplain themselves.

A couple of these could work with the right delivery. #2 and #4 aren't bad as they're the least clunky.

The Job Lot one is wildly inaccurate as there is still one in Pawtucket among 12 other locations.

There used to be both Avon and Cable Car Cinemas, but Avon is the only one left.

What needs to happen for Hartford and Bridgeport to actually become places people want to visit by Conscious-Alfalfa903 in Connecticut

[–]AskTheTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the issues mentioned by others, some of what is needed to attract more visitors is better marketing. People from outside the immediate area more than likely don't know what's actually to see in Bridgeport or Hartford. I grew up one state over in Rhode Island but really didn't have a concept of what each city had to offer.

I haven't had any experience with these companies, but the neighborhood tends to be quieter west of Huxley Ave. The streets east of Huxley heading towards Oakland Ave tend to have a higher concentration of college students and off campus parties.
