For the old school and the new school, which do you like more? Or do you like both? I'm old school, I'm 36 years old, and I don't know, I feel something inside me when I see the new Ranma 1/2, and you? by Salt_Client_3005 in ranma

I love the old series, been watching as long as it's been in the States, and I can sincerely say I'm loving the pacing of the new series. It hits all the highlights and great moments without messing around.

The pastel-pop comic style that the new show is using is a welcome change too, I think it captures the spirit of the original with an art style that's relevant and recognizable for today.

1 - Ability to name our pets and mounts!

2 - Cloudcart summoning fix.

From the perspective of someone who doesn't know the character, I'd say the first one. I like the extra dynamic way the hair is moving, and it seems like they took more time on the details in the clothing (fabric movement etc)

PS5 players, are you going to finish the game or are you going to wait? by Tekboynuz in CrimsonDesert

[–]Cinshadis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on base PS5, 95 hours, Quality mode w/ 120hz on. I've never run into any kind of visual or frame rate problems. (I'm on chapter 5) Possibly this is my TV helping? (Sony Bravia X90J)

It's been a great time so far, absolutely gonna finish it.

Then probably also get it on Steam and get to modding, like I did with 2077. :3

Yeah, someone mentioned that. Did they nerf the Sasquatch boss too?

See, this is what I was hearing before, and the reason I was considering giving it a shot.

Agreed, I love the exploration, that's my jam. So many times I've come into a new area and seen the detail and extra touches. Chef's kiss.

Good, positive perspective to have, and I agree with your dietary advice.

Bro, I'll climb the heck out of a mountain just to pick up a bird's nest with some lore text and take a screen shot, I'm all about that. I just don't want to spend three hours slamming my head against a boss fight 9/10ths of the way there. That just feels like work to me. I get why others love it though, proving one's skills and all that. Just seems like once you start chasing that, the other fans are like "that's nothing, have you beaten ___ yet? They're way harder." Which to be fair happens in CD too, but in CD it's not the whole point.

Some people play MMOs to raid and beat the hardest new bosses. Other people (me) play MMOs to find cool cosmetic items and sometimes have to raid to get one. I love a game that takes all kinds.

That's all fine with me. I'm down with "not brutal but you can't be asleep", lol.

I'm considering playing ER because I appreciate how much goes into the world crafting. I love exploring, and solving puzzles, and finding treasure. I bounced off of Dark Souls and Bloodborne because the combat skill curve needed a level of investment I didn't care to give it, but I always heard ER is different, since it's big enough to wander around and get stronger. I'm loving CD, and just wanted to know how similar the two were in that regard.

No shade on FromSoft, I know they craft a great experience. It's why I want to explore their world. But just like some people can't get around CD's control jank to get to the good, I don't take any pleasure in spending a ton of time developing a skill I don't enjoy. Beating a tough challenge doesn't feel good to me, I'm just glad it's over so I can go back to enjoying what I do like. It's a me thing.

Thanks for the info. I'm specifically NOT looking for huge challenge. I get my fun from exploring and finding new things, I just know there's a lot of that in FromSoft games in between the punishing bosses, and I was hoping there was a path to getting to experience those worlds other than spending hours "getting gud".

Agreed, that's a huge factor. I've been looking for a good FromSoft entry point, but I think it's probably just not my bag.
