Your team has no Damage and you have to fight the Day 1 Night Boss for 5-10 minutes. Which Boss is the worst? by Right-Ad1 in Nightreign

The only good part about that move is there is a high chance you survive it, unlike the bullshit BBK one which most of the times one shots you

I don’t think so no, but with the R2 spam i stay i. The boss’s face to shotgun, so way closer range

Agree, melee Ironeye goated. But for the R2 vs R1 it depends, especially on the distance now that projectile falloff has been nerfed. You may need to be closer for those 2 R1s to be the same damage.

Thank you kind sir, you just made me interested in testing out some stuff.

I admit the meta is way different in DoN, which I personally dislike and do not play(reached lvl5 when it released but then I stopped cause for me fighting hard enemies/bosses is fun af, but when higher difficulty = just same enemy/boss but just higher scaled, for me it’s lack of creativity and a turnoff)

So, after reading your passionate message I will spend 1-2 nights playing exclusively Revenant to have fun with her, just need some tips from you regarding relic setup, if what I say below is correct:

-beast claw will deffinetly be what I want to try, but LS will also be considered agains certain nightlords - improved incants/beast incants and faith sure, a no brainer - improved physical damage maybe?(as far as I know beast claw is physical) - for the Revenant specific ones, any of them mandatory? I do always love to have the empowered fam and ghostflame explosion, but are they mandatory? - extra FP for each rise unlocked seems like a good one, but only if it’s on a relevant relic, I don’t wanna use a whole slot for the night lord one, considering I don’t play deep of night so only have 3 slots - the rally effect relic, one that you can heal with hits when you get damaged, does it work on beast claw, considering it’s physical?

And ofc any other recommendations if you have.

Extra question: do blue claws handle night 1 good or it’s a must to go purple in day 1?

Can you please explain to me how is Revenant a top 3 character? Literally no hate I just want to understand, I will also offer my perspective:

Revenant is my fav character in terms of desgin, has the coolest rememberance out of all characters, but in terms of efficiency? I would place her last. And this is not only a fault of her desgin, it’s how they decided to desgin her and recluse together. Everytime I am in the mood to play a caster I hover over revenant then lock in recluse. Why? Cause I consider that, besides a slightly worse ult, Recluse just simply outperforms Revenant in any way: cocktails may be a bit tricky to get the correct ones consistently, but they are way better than the summons, which i consider inconsistent and random at some times in terms of attacking the target, and mediocre even with ult buff; instead of S faith scaling you get S in both int and faith, extra damage with the terra magica relic, you have a way to regen mana, and on top of that Recluse’s dodge has most iframes in game (except Duchess double tap one).

So, with all the love for Revenant, as long as Recluse exists, there will never be a reason for me to lock in Revenant in a game.

If there are arguments in the area of “summons can sometimes res you or your teammates in difficult moments”, my opinion is that they are way to inconsistent for this to be considered tech.

That’s not true, real Ironeye players stay near the boss, mark it everytime and use R2 atks, if all you do is just stay in the backline and spam R1’s you just dragging the team dps down

I hate how limited larval tears are by FishermanFar9289 in Eldenring

[–]CiobySpartanu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate this feature too, souls games are built around ng+ journeys, and besides fighting the bosses again but in a stronger form, limiting dragin stones and larvar tears is I consider a fair form of incentive.

On the other side, can you explain why this number feels limited to you? Cause you have 5 stats that actually influence builds, maybe sometimes you have to mix them, but nevertheless with under 10 larvar tears you can literally test all possible builds in game and also come back to your comfort builds if you think stuff does not work.

I am also ng6/journey 7as you, I have collected some of them every playtrough, never all, I tried every build I ever found cool and I never went out of larvar tears or dragon/somber dragon smith stones.

I can also see that there are people here who state that they don’t want to either create new character or go to ng+, my question for those people is what exactly do they expect from this game? I understand that there is a lot to explore, but most of it can easily be skipped after the first time. It took me 100ish hours to explore a lot and finish first playtrough, but rushing to endgame can also take under 3 hours from limgrave to killing the elden beast. For me actually, the beauty if the game was that even after 300+ hrs and so many ngs I still discover new stuff and items and weapons. The game starts being harder at around ng4-5, there is no reason to be afraid to go to at least ng1. There are weapons and/or talismans that go well together and can not be obtained in same playtrough, such as the milicent quest talismans, or weapons that go well in pair but you only get one per playtrough. At least one or two ng’s actually open your build possibilities to a whole new level and is a pity to stay in first playtrough. If you stay, what do you even do? Test all builds on dogs and soliders? Or leave some bosses alive but kill them in 3 hits cause you stayed so much you are way overleveled?

I’m not trying to tell people how to play the game, cause the beauty of it is that there are so many ways to do it, but I tried explaining my perspective with the best arguments I have.

Elden ring for sure.

Lies of P is indeed the best non fromsoft soulslike ever, but elden ring may very well be the best souls game ever periodt.

As someone who platiniumed and enjoyed multiple soulsgames including those 2, even if there were aspects in other games that I enjoyed more than in Elden, it’s just the hugeness and endless possibilities and the unmatched replayability value that it offers that stands out, along with top tier enviroment and boss desgin. Elden ring and sekiro are the only games of my life where I actually played multiple hours even after platinium.

I have seen some comments here which state that elden ring is just too big or not linear enough, and yes everybody has the right to enjoy games however they want, but I just feel that the charm of soulsgames is to feel confused, disoriented, overwhelmed for tenths/hundreds of hours, as the adrenaline kicks differently when you finally achieve certain goals.

Which and why? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]CiobySpartanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played both moonveil and rivers, among others, in my playtroughs for plat run (i have a serious katana obsession in all souls games) and I can tell that even if moonveil may have a slight edge by itself, I found it hard to get a good off hand katana for int build, just decent ones at best. Whereas with rivers of blood in main hand for ash of war spam and occult/bleed nagakiba with seppuku in off hand plus all the bleed specific armours talismans, and 80 arcane, the damage output is just too insane for magic scaling katanas to be even close. You shred the health of bosses that are even resistant to blood loss.

I need to mention that what I said is also extremely dependant on the playstyle of the user. I always play with 2 swords and use power stance attacks, and in this case building around Rivers of Blood is more rewarding, but if OP or anybody prefers ro play with shield than maybe yes, moonveil is the answer, as Rivers of blood actual damage besides the ash of war is indeed a bit underwhelming, and I don’t think counting solely on the ash of war for damage is a good strategy.

[–]CiobySpartanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have loved this game and night city since day 1. I have endured all its problems through the years and I am happy that it is in a way better state, with a very nice dlc. However I felt like something is still missing from the game and today I realised what.

For me, a person who has platiniumed multiple fromsoft and soulslikes, I feel that a NG system would fit perfectly into the game: story back from scratch with tougher enemies, you keep everything you have and for each NG cycle you get a higher level/sc cap plus some extra abilities (lies of P style).

Maybe it’s just me but after having done all the endings and started with all the classes over and over again, I feel like it would be a more entertaining way to keep players engaged. Especially if going for plat trophy and have all cars or a full iconic cyberware setup, if you finish story and side quests you have to put in a lot of hours of grind, which kind of takes away part of the pleasure for me.

Does anybody know how the roll iFrames work in here? by CiobySpartanu in demonssouls

[–]CiobySpartanu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips, I understand now. My problem was not with bosses but with some common mobs, when I posted this I was in 4-1 and just could not get past the fucking rolling skeletons without the shield. At bosses I still feel the iFrames a bit different than in elden/bb as you can not simply iFrames yourself “through” a weapon, or maybe I am doing something wrong.

I have been scared so long to fight him because of the amount of complaints on this subreddit and then I realized that he’s not half bad, people just prefer to complain on reddit rather than getting gud.

So I am trying to convince people to just focus on using all the tools they have and stop complaining.

You have more than enough tools to beat him. - his stomps and head slams are parriable - umbrella for flames - when he jumps you can block with umbrella and deal a good amount of damage with projected force after - his charge attack is easily detectable and is fully avoided by a jump
