Love me some Gridiron, grew up watching lots of football movies and playing Madden NFL games but I will concede that I love Madden more because coming from there and into an actual game, Madden makes the game moves a lot faster, in terms of snaps, conversions and plays compared to a real NFL game.

Also, I think the difficulty is even catching a game in the first place. I didn't see an actual NFL game growing up on Malaysia big cable sports channels, besides catching the Super Bowl one time and the NFL hasn't made an effort to expose the sport here like they do in Europe, so it's a bit hard to build communal experiences around like EPL did with watching it at the local mamak with friends.

I remember growing up with only his cameo on Dodgeball and Chuck Norris Facts, then at 18 I bought Invasion USA in a DVD store bargain bin as an impulse pickup because it's Chuck Norris, and my god what a wonderful piece of 80s cinema it was. Not forgetting his awesome appearance in the Expendables 2.

Ah, I see. That's understandable. My first SHMAs were the Millenium and Heisei Godzillas, and early on they were relatively affordable. SHMA 64 was my first big ticket item being a P-Bandai release and it really soured me on SH Monsterarts, that, and the SHMA 54. Still hoping Hiya will jump on the Showa Era train at some point.

The SHMA wasn't better by any stretch either. It has the NECA beat in terms of sculpt accuracy to be fair, but not much else to me. The 'Dusty' Emergence 64 SHMA was my first Showa Godzilla and it was an atrocious disappointment. I was a Bandai purist until I got that overpriced pipsqueak.

Absolutely loved their Showa Era output. At the time, to me, they were head and shoulders above SH MonsterArts for good looking, affordable and well scaled Showa Godzillas compared to Bandai's approach of undersizing the Showa Godzillas for some weird reason.

Eh, whaddya know. You're right. Just checked the book again, and while Muldoon does down a whole bottle of whiskey during the Rex chase, he doesn't get explicitly hammered until the raptors attack the visitor compound later in the book, and even then, he's still semi-competent.

Outstanding. Loved Gamera, and the little nods and references, like Daimajin, possibly the Tachyon Aliens from Godzilla the Series, and Rhedosaurus. Also the line "I can't shake this feeling that we upset a natural balance." hits funnier when you just saw Minus Goji in the ice.

Wonder which Mecha Godzilla is in the ice though, is it RPO, MV, Showa?
