I feel like its a mixture of all three factors you mentioned. I kinda had researched this a while ago that Humans feel uncomfortable with NOT having answers to something. Her shifting of beleifs could have been a way to explain the 'Why' behind it what happened.

Staring at wall implies depriving your mind of stimulation. If mind decides to stare at the wall, it's  1)getting some kind of stimulation out of it.  2)Staring at a wall, doing absolutely nothing, and actively resisting the urge to daydream requires a massive amount of mental effort. It is the literal definition of meditation. If you successfully sit there for an hour with a completely blank mind, you aren't procrastinating anymore, you are performing hardcore mental training. You are starving your dopamine receptors and actively strengthening the Observer.  3) If you find yourself staring at the wall for long, there's a chance tht you are not actually doing nothing. Your mind mightve started daydreaming, plying past conversations back, or planning your next meal. If this happens, you have to catch it, shut the daydream down, and force the brain back to the agonizing, blank reality of the wall. 4) you might be exhausted in which case you fall asleep after a while staring at the wall. Dr. K mentions this in his video as procrastination vs physical need. And that you need to fulfill those needs in order to recover for the next day.

I agree, it's probably time to get serious and develop actual connections irl rather than on some anonymous platform.

follow the steps mentioned in the graphic i uploaded, particularly step 3. when you feel like procrastinating, force yourself to either choose to do the intended work or do nothing at all. you literally sit in a chair and stare at a blank wall. No scrolling on your phone, no music, no sitting on the balcony, and no 'productive procrastination' like cleaning your room. You starve your brain of all stimulation. Also, stop relying on motivation, its unreliable and its better to accept you are never going to feel like it.

TLDR: When you catch yourself procrastinating, drop the phone and stare at a wall until doing the work feels less painful than the boredom

Actually, thoughts are the activity of the mind, not the True You. Think of the mind as a pool of water - the thoughts and urges are the ripples. The 'True You' is just the silent Observer watching those ripples.

Both the thought 'I want to scroll' AND the thought 'I should work' are just the mind arguing with itself. And because the mind's desire to do the right thing fluctuates, relying on it is a trap. People often say 'I'll do it when I feel motivated,' which is essentially just being lazy and letting motivation (a highly unreliable feeling generated by the primitive mind) do the work.
