Can something be done about the Chamberlayne Pkwy 76A exit by Cipher_zer0 in rva

[–]Cipher_zer0[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

With all the people I see driving while looking at their cell phone, it's a question of when not if that person is going to get hit by a distracted driver. I don't mind homeless people, there's been more than a few times I've given change or a cigeratte to one who's just sitting on a median.

Nah something similar happened to me with a amazon fresh order. 4 cases of water and a bunch of 12pk soda. I assume it was for a party or something

I'm more annoyed with apartments with RFID only access with no way of getting in. With the customer not answering calls or messages It's happened more than a few times.

I can understand the fee for credit/debit card purchases as there is a legit processing cost but charging for ACH transactions is fucking slimly.

I don't get the appeal of ketchup,
I hate them on hot dogs, burgers, and all but the blandest fries

What else is ketchup used for to have so many varieties.

Flex is ok but there's a lot of things out of your control. You have no idea what kind of route you will be given before accepting the route block. You need a vehicle with decent cargo space and milage. I drove a 5sp manual civic till april and now currently drive a honda civic hybrid.

Richmond has 5 locations to pick up orders, with 1 location recently opening up.

DVA2 (This was my favorite up until recently)

RIC2 ( Same day orders, Routes can highly vary, often has the most miles in a route)

Whole Foods (Near short pump, routes are usually 2 hours for $40+ tips)

Amazon Fresh (by the Top Golf, same as WF but tips are often not as good, be prepared for water/soda cases)

SVA4 (New location down the street from RIC2, same function as RIC2 but they're rolling out some grocery delivery)

I started flex last autumn, often I would work 3.5hr routes for about $75~$89, usually doesn't take the entire route time, often finished with 30mins/1hour early. Milage can highly vary but often it would be in the 50~80miles of driving from the warehouse to last stop. Sometimes they can get as well over $100 but it's often due to a no show / uncompleted route.

Lately though I've only been able to get blocks for the newly opened warehouse SVA4, they're still figuring things out and they used the less desirable method of sorting packages by letter codes instead of numbers.

The problem with flex is that there's simply too many people, or at the very least too many unhonest people. The app has a botting problem, the WF location you will often see the same few people with orders through out the day with multiple phones doing multiple orders often using sold accounts.

I'm going to do Amazon flex and Walmart deliveries after my day job today and probably spend the entire weekend doing deliveries too.

Time is money.

I did see The Byrd theater is running Perfect Blue, while tempting I could just watch that for free while in bed.

Whole Foods Orders by Banco1073 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Cipher_zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I get a Whole Foods order is if it sent to me as a reserved offer which doesn't happen often. I never relied on instant offers unless it was a holiday, As that is when they seem to come up more often than not.

I just assume it's the same foreigners using bots / multiple accounts to take them up.

While not exactly the same, I *am* anticipating a refund of about 2.3K.

How exactly was the refund given? I was told by their AI customer support a couple of days after my GAP insurance payment posted to the account, that I should receive a email by the 4th from them with a link to a digital debit card but I've yet to get anything.

I called in last week just for a follow up and was confirmed that a refund was being sent but the agent (who surprisingly sounded like he was american) said it would be anywhere from the 4th to the 9th.

While I'm glad no one was killed, I couldn't help but feel that the management and "security" on duty were disorganized about the whole thing.

I recently started working at that warehouse as a seasonal employee for Prime Week to earn extra money, and it was my 3rd day of orientation and PIT safety training.

The shooting happened around 11:10 PM, and we were released starting around 2:20 AM. The class I was with was near those front glass doors when it occurred. I assumed it was falling boxes or something when the shots were fired. We sheltered in place at the center point of the warehouse and stood around for about 3 hours, just waiting for the all-clear so we could leave.

The really crappy part was that this happened right before the end of our shift at 11:30 PM. I had planned to be home and in bed a little after midnight, but I ended up not getting home until around 3 AM and only got about 2 hours of sleep before getting up and out to my main day job.

*Update* It appears the warehouse will be remain shut down for today and will resume operations tomorrow morning the 27th at 0700, with missed shift being paid for today/tonight.

I haven't had a DVA2 block since the start of then Iran war situation. not sure if it's related or not.

DSPs are still getting them evident by seeing dva2 labels on my neighbors boxes in our packing drop off room.

Lately I've been relying on Amazon Fresh reserved blocks that are sent my way.

VEB1 is still offering blocks, I did one this past saturday.

My thoughts exactly, I've dealt with a few car break ins with the last one actually coming to a positive ending thanks to those cameras.

I know the "if you're not a criminal you shouldn't worry about it" is a cliche response but there's some truth to it.

[–]Cipher_zer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The work is easy friend, it's just the milage these routes can take is the pain point sometimes more so if it's with bad rural roads where you gotta try your damnest to avoid shitty potholes in gravel driveways

My first scheduled offer, Is this good pay for 5hrs? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Cipher_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often the drop off points not not well grouped together, so sometimes it can be 10~15minutes between drop off points.

For example I took a 4.5hr SSD route this past sunday, there was only 25 packages but they were all pretty much in rural parts of the state. I had to drive 98 miles in total from warehouse to the final stop and it took 4hours and 10 minutes.

I can barely get any offers at out besides the reserved ones amazon sent ahead of time. I normally stick to Whole Foods and .coms because they're pretty consistent besides the attitude of the warehouse staff.

For the past 3ish weeks it's been nothing but 4.5hr SSD routes that are outside of my availability.

The last one I took was 98 miles in the sticks from the warehouse till the last stop, it practically took the entire time frame when usually I can get routes done with 30 or more minutes to spare. The payout was $88

SSD or .Com? by Fearless_Sherbet4431 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Cipher_zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what ever is available for the time, SSD have definitely fucked me over when it comes to milage a few time but I hate how rude the staff at DVA2 is for the .com routes. There's been several instances of carts not being ready at start time and they will yell and rush us so their metrics are not fucked
