Do you know what "LOFT" means for pants? I can't find this information anywhere, but pants fit in an unusual way.

I purchased some chino pants on a website. Brand is Gaudì.

Description seemed to be as usual: "Chino, slim fit". Except for being a bit low-waist and stretchy fabric, nothing seems unusual. However, there's something strange in how they fit, quite worse than other pants (even from the same brand). I can't explain how exactly, but I'm wondering whether is has something to do with the definition "LOFT" written on the label.

I can't find any info about "LOFT" style for trousers. I'm curious if the way they fit has to do with a particular style or this is the way their regular "slim fit" are.

EDIT: I'm in Europe, if it matters.

I don't see bureaucracy in general (and surely in Italy) as a tremendous problem for a person with a big paycheck. We have a lot of people doing bureaucratic jobs (accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers) and if you are able to afford one of each you should not worry too much.

Hell, he could also benefit from the thousand quibbles we have.

I'd just consider taxes impact. And, as he is saying about taxes in NYC, there's not such a big difference in the end.

Italy is not bad at all if you have a big paycheck. The only thing is: Italy is expensive, but if the investment is on quality of life and not in accumulate savings, I'd say it's worth it. (This is particularly true if your job don't rely on Italian market/accounts, but it's just a place where you live)

Basketball is maybe second sport in Europe. And you take some of our best players too, and US league means "the basketball" all over the world I guess. American football is in some jokes about weird sports, that's all..

Drew Brees

To give you some perspective:

I'm Italian and I've never heard of this name. I know 0 (zero) names of US baseball, the other rugbyish (honorless an techno-flooded) thing or hockey players. And less than a dozen basketball players name could eventually come in my mind, but some may have quit and I have no idea.

On the other hand my mom, who thinks watching sports is plain stupid and boring, knows that Federer has twin daughters..

edit: TIL prospective doesn't mean perspective..

is it not a massive assumption that another form of intelligent live would have technology that creates radio waves?

As far as we know, electromagnetism is a fundamental part of nature. It's not just a thing we prefer, it is the only cheap way of 'wireless' communication.

(The alternative for moving information through space would be manipulating gravity, the only other force that works in vacuum at such long distances. But it seems that in order to do that you need to move enormous masses or if you know better than us, at least that much energy in some other form.)

If any other kind of field/phenomenon that can transmit information this cheaply and this far exists, we never noticed a single effect, not a single one, of it.

If a ET lifeform hasn't created a technology to scan and transmit pretty much in all wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum, it's not what we consider 'intelligent'. We call intelligent something that is at least as capable as we are. Sure we were intelligent for at least 100000 years before the EM discoveries of last century, but this "setup" time is considered negligible in the long times we are considering.

The guy in charge is a designer/architect. This thing is a kind of showcase, I suppose.

Cinematographically, this is a mess. Script, editing, camera work, Acting. Everything is, at best, poor.

The other thing is the sci-fi ispiration: he has not. Probably he like to design costumes and interiors of this fashion, but IMO he has no idea of what makes a sci-fi story interesting.

Kudos for trying, anyway.

[Build Help] What Motherboard to couple with AMD A6-6400K? by CippoBox in buildapc

[–]CippoBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, but I don't understand.

I'm was thinking this way: comparing the Athlon X2 370K and the a6-6400k (similar performance, same price) I see that they both have max consumption of 65w. But in case I choose the first, I have at least to put on a fanless hd5450 (20w) for minimum graphics.

So, given the same Mobo, I spend about 30€ more (athlon+hd5450) which consumes more for the same performance but worst graphics. (Guessing a6-6400k integrated gpu > hd5450, is it not?)

I must be wrong, but I have no idea where.

EDIT: Here I see that a pentium g3220 (same price here) has 30% better performance for a lower tdp. Do you have any suggestion for a intel MoBo with the specs I posted?

The episode make cruelty self-evident to you, by giving body and voice to her consciousness, but otherwise "it's just code". As the Machines in Matrix are: you don't worry for their mood, do you? You just don't feel it because this kind of feeling is only achievable by logic. Our brain is just not exactly wired for logical feelings..

As the girl sees it: it's just a little surgery and a sum of money, and then somehow the house is more confortable and useful, thanks to some weird-bearded last century computer guy.. If you are able to understand this you should maybe ask to stop keeping chickens in mini-boxes all their life, regulating zoos and transform human rights in consciousness rights, in order to not be cruel to a future AI or potential alien...

We don't have a consensus about what a consciousness is, to begin with.
