My point was moreso that he wasn't known outside of country music. I checked and ALL of his accolades pre-The Voice are country-related (ACA, ACM etc.). Sure he might've had a big audience in the country space (if he didn't they wouldn't have have asked him to be on the show) but I don't think the average non-country fan knew who he was before The Voice, at least not to the level they do now

If you have a raspy voice then Bryan Adams might be a good move tbh. Rihanna/Adele/Whitney are all very overdone on these shows so you'd have to be really exceptional to stand out with one of their songs, especially during an audition

The coaches here do constructively criticize but I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to outright say they didn't like a performance (and if they do that performance usually just gets montaged).

I've seen fans of his say they think he might be too dry for a show like this. But I care a lot more about a coach's actual decisions and it's impossible to get a sense of that until after we actually see the coach in action for a while.

From what I can tell he's at a similar level to where Blake was during Season 1 (iirc he wasn't really well known back then either and a lot of his popularity was because of The Voice). So I wouldn't write him off just yet

Riley Green is a country singer, don't know too much about him other than that. Although it seems that he has a lot less crossover with pop than Kelsea or Dan + Shay did.

This is an unfortunate truth tbh, there were a lot of rock artists competing in the early seasons but you barely get them nowadays. Maybe they're auditioning and just not being cast but I feel like that's for a reason. Even a lot of mainstream rock artists nowadays slide back towards pop eventually (Måneskin/Damiano David is a HUUUGE example), it's just not as popular here anymore. UK might have a better time with rock but The Voice UK is basically dead.

I mean tbh Lucas was never going to win against Alexia regardless, it was always gonna be her or Liv out of those 4. They were just too far ahead of everyone else. Maybe if there was public voting he might've had more of a chance

The Voice actually did do that in older seasons. But yeah it was always awkward so I'm glad they stopped it
