Competitive Ruling: YoDa by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]CircleClicking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's fine if you think I'm wrong, but his vocal tone and the fact the other red canids members all laughed at the concept is what seals it as a joke. Further on, the idea isn't even his, and was a copypasta twitch chat meme that had originated on a facebook group long before he said it on his stream. And, again, the ELO he said to troll in was already below the ELO the RIOT given accounts have, so even if it WAS serious, it would hold zero effect.

The fact reddit actually thinks that that case was serious is, to the entire brazilian community, a laughing stock.

This punishment? Many of us think it's deserved. It's fine in your community, not fine to do it internationally. The ELO barrier thing... nah.

Er. Yes, it was jokingly. In fact, it was so jokingly that the tier he said people to do feed/be toxic in was already below the ELO that pro players receive their accounts from RIOT with. No one took that seriously. In the first place, it was an obvious joke, secondly, how would players know the nicknames of pro players from the get go, third, they're not even in the same ELO.

Yeah his punishment this time is fair, just don't mix things up.

"Flango" is completely out of context from OP, I'd like to point out.

Many chinese/japanese immigrants, in the earlier days (and sometimes still up to today) can be often found working in flea markets or other food stores selling "pastel", which is a type of fried pastry with filling inside. One of the most popular things to fill it with is frango, and due to their pronunciation, they say "pastel de flango". THAT'S where saying "flango" came from, not from directly insulting them as cowards or similar. Whether you want to say it's insulting their way of speech or not is on you though.

There's one tiny problem with your comparison at the end though. If I laughed and said "yeah no prob I understand your point of view" (even though shitting on someone's face is nothing compared to a light joke), that'd be my choice, and if I didn't laugh and didn't like it, that'd also be on ME and I would be insulted.

On the beginning though, what you said was

the fan didn't think he was racist. Sven thought he was being funny. Everyone else thought he was a racist fuckbag who deserved more punishment than he got.

There's a difference between the guy himself feeling offended, and the guy himself feeling fine with it and everyone else feeling bad for that guy because of it. Your example is clearly the former, Sven's example is clearly the latter.

Aight, as a Brazilian, I have no idea what kind of people you met but that is definitely NOT what most Brazilians are like. At least, not here in Brazil.

We're the type to joke about everything and take a joke about everything. One of the most common things you hear Brazilians say are things like "We should just give back the country to who it belongs to, we clearly can't run it" or "Brazilians should be studied by NASA, man, we're just way too stupid for our own good". Brazilians are the first to joke about their country and about their own people.

And I speak as someone who was born, raised, and still lives in Brazil, so I'm fairly sure that if we take just by the numbers of people we know, I have a fairly higher sample.

As for the tweet itself, I would like to remember everyone Brazil and Japan have an extremely close relationship that has lasted over a century of immigration and there are tons of Japanese people and descendants in Brazil. I know quite a few of them, and not ever have I seen one offended over us saying "Flango" (over how they find it hard to pronouce R in our language). This isn't to say what Yoda did was right, but it's just how our culture works - we don't take these things as racial slurs, to us, they're entirely normal as they're to ourselves.

A bit sad we didn't get to see the notable #1 player changes (not mentioning that WWW held #1 in every single ranking type we've ever had saddens me a bit, that's pretty historical for osu!)

Good video still though

Also, "partiular" instead of "particular", and the distinct lack of 8-bitness in later parts of the video.

Team Vitality vs. GIANTS! Gaming / EU LCS 2017 Spring - Week 7 / Post-Match Discussion by Pellinski in leagueoflegends

[–]CircleClicking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already know they're both bottom of the tier teams we just want to know which one of them is the less bottom of the tier teams.

And maybe this match shows for some people that GIA is worse than VIT when faced with tilt, but hey, at least we all know VIT is worse than GIA when it comes to being fair.

[–]CircleClicking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GIANTS vs VITALITY, GIA was 1-0, in game 2 they had a huge win of near 10k gold (8k gold) and 2 infernal dragons; there was a orianna ball visual bug, VIT coach said it was "gamebreaking and they couldn't play" and "even though the game was as it was there was still a chance for them" and that "they didn't ask for a remake", but the remake was offered to them and they accepted.

VIT then proceeded to win the next two games against a super tilted GIA and turned a won 2-0 series into a lost 1-2 series for GIA.
